AREA AND IT’S BOUNDARY

1. Area and Perimeter Calculations:

 Q1: A rectangular garden has a length of 15 meters and a width of 8 meters. Calculate
its area and perimeter.
 Q2: A square playground has a side length of 20 meters. Find its area and perimeter.

2. Word Problems:

 Q3: A farmer wants to fence a rectangular field that is 50 meters long and 30 meters
wide. How much fencing material does he need?
 Q4: A rectangular swimming pool is 25 meters long and 10 meters wide. If the pool is
to be tiled with square tiles of side 0.5 meters, how many tiles are required to cover
the entire pool?

3. Composite Figures:

 Q5: A figure consists of a rectangle of length 12 cm and width 5 cm, and a semicircle
with a diameter equal to the width of the rectangle. Calculate the total area of the
figure.
 Q6: A garden is in the shape of a right-angled triangle with base 24 meters and height
7 meters. A circular pond with a radius of 3 meters is dug in the center. Find the area
of the garden excluding the pond.

4. Conversion Problems:

 Q7: Convert the area of a rectangle with length 150 cm and width 80 cm into square
meters.
 Q8: A square has an area of 225 square centimeters. What is the length of its side in
millimeters?

5. Advanced Problem-Solving:

 Q9: A rectangular plot of land has a length of 120 meters and a width of 75 meters. A
road of uniform width is constructed along the entire boundary of the plot, reducing
the area of the plot by 1,800 square meters. Find the width of the road.
 Q10: A circular park has a radius of 14 meters. A square playground is constructed
inside the park such that its corners touch the circumference of the park. Calculate the
area of the playground.

6. Mixed Application:

 Q11: A rectangular room has a length of 6 meters and a width of 4 meters. A square
carpet of side 3 meters is placed in the center of the room. What is the area of the
floor not covered by the carpet?
 Q12: A circular table has a diameter of 1.2 meters. A square tablecloth is to be made
to cover the table, with each side of the square equal to the diameter of the table.
What is the area of the tablecloth?

7. Real-Life Application:
 Q13: A rectangular field is 100 meters long and 50 meters wide. A path of uniform
width is constructed along the entire boundary of the field, and the area of the path is
1,200 square meters. Find the width of the path.
 Q14: A circular swimming pool has a radius of 10 meters. A circular walkway of
uniform width is constructed around the pool, and the area of the walkway is 314
square meters. Find the width of the walkway.
