Event Monitor Service alarms are not triggering with Moxa ioLogic E1212 device.

Event Monitoring Service is installed on machine on your network - See article Installing And Configuring

Event Monitoring has been licensed for your system
Cameras and Monitors in the environment have been numbered
Your Moxa device has been given a static IP address for your network - See article Assigning a static IP

Verify that you are using the correct build for Moxa E1212 - Version 2.5 Build16091211
This can be found by typing in the IP address of your Moxa Device into a web browser. The
information is displayed on the top of the home screen

Configuring AlarmConfiguration.xml for Moxa E1212

1. Download a new AlarmConfiguration.XML file HERE (https://resources.pelco.com/technical-

support/Video%20Management/VxE/VX%20Integrations/AlarmConfiguration.xml)
2. Press Windows + R and run the services.msc command. Navigate to the VideoXpert Event Monitor
Service, right click it and select Stop

3. Navigate to the install path of Event Monitor Service. The default location is C:\Program Files
(x86)\Pelco\VxEventMonitorService
4. Replace the existing AlarmConfiguration.XML with the new file you downloaded
5. Right click AlarmConfiguration.XML and edit it Notepad as Administrator, or Notepad++
a. This article will reference lines within the XML file. For this reason Notepad++ is recommended.
6. Edit line 4, Device IP, to contain the IP address of your Moxa Device
7. The steps below will be an example of how to configure Alarm 1 to send Camera 5 to Monitor 3, in cell
3 of a 2x2 layout
a. Lines 9-69 will define Alarm 1
b. [Setting Screen layout]
i. Modify line 24 to 3, will select monitor 3
ii. Modify line 32 to 2x2 to set it to a 2x2 layout.
c. [Sending Camera to Monitor/Cell]
i. Modify line 36 to 3 to select monitor 3
ii. Modify line 37 to 3 to select cell 3
iii. Modify line 38 to 5 select camera 5
d. [Inactive Alarm State] - This configuration will remove the camera once the alarm returns to an
inactive state
i. Modify line 67 to 3 to select monitor 3
ii. Modify line 68 to 3 to select cell 3
8. Save the XML file
9. Press Windows + R and run the services.msc command. Navigate to the VideoXpert Event Monitor
Service, right click it and select Start
10. Test the event by connecting contact D10 to the GND.
a. You should see camera 5 on monitor 3, in cell 3 of a 2x2 layout while the connection to the
contact is complete
b. When releasing the contact the camera should be cleared from the cell
c. See below for a diagrams for connecting ALARM 1 contacts

Cause
The AlarmConfiguration.XML is not configured to work with the Moxa Device
