How to update the firmware

Firmware is a software inside the electronic unit of board maker.


This paper describes how to update the firmware.

Note; Please prepare the PC which has RS-232C port.


It is not available to update firmware via USB communication.

1) Connnect the PC and board maker by RS-232C cable.

2) There is a DIP switch at the back of the machine.


Please open the cover at the middle of the RS232C port and USB port
and you will see the DIP switch inside it.

3) Turn off the machine and turn the 6 th of DIP switch on.
(ON = down)

This is the mode of updating firmware.


4) Turn on the board maker.
In this mode, the board maker doesn’t make a homing action.

5) The following three files provided by MITS Electronics


in order to update the firmware:
z fw3067en.exe
z fw3067.bin
z *.S file

Please copy these 3 files to the same folder on your PC and start fw3067en.exe

6) Choose the correct COM port No. and click Write.

7) After a short time, a dialog is


diplayed to select a file.
Select extention .S file
which is provided by MITS
and click OPEN.

8) For a while, it will perform the rewriting firmware.


When finished, click Exit to terminate fw3067en.

9) Turn off the machine and


turn off the 6 th of the DIP switch. (OFF = upper)
