Rooftop solar PV(1)
Generally, Solar park solar PV can be installed considering the direction to increase the amount of
power generation.
The direction of Rooftop solar PV, on the other hand, is limited by the direction of the roof on it.
Therefore, the availability of Rooftop solar PV tends to be smaller than solar park solar PV.
There is the data that Japan's Rooftop solar PV has 4% lower availability than Solar park solar PV.
Considering that Bangladesh does not have as much difference in solar angle due to directions by
seasons as Japan does, Bangladesh's availability was lowered by 2% from 20% to 18%.

Rooftop solar PV(2)
Compared to the current situation in Germany and Japan,
12,000MW (the forecast for Bangladesh 2050) is not excessive.

The coastline of the Bay of Bengal is about 500km on the right map,
and considering the territorial waters of 20km,
wind turbine generators can be installed
in an area of 500 x 20 = 10,000km2.

5.75-7.75 m/s area is suggested for wind power generation, therefore, gulf area are suggested for
on-shore wind power generation based on the “Assessing the Wind Energy Potential in Bangladesh”

A draft for what to be included in the Final Report
Institutional factors considered
Measures to promote
to hinder development
1) Cumbersome licensing and approval procedures 1) Centralization of application window at /
2) Uncertainty in the tender management process delegation of authority to /
3) Insufficient tendering systems/capacity capacity enhancement of SREDA
4) Access to the locations which are suitable 2) Expanded bidding through government land
for renewable energy power generation provision scheme
5) Limited sources and options of financing 3) Introduction of incentive schemes for Rooftop PV
4) Application of production tax credit
5) Improved funding environment
6) Flexible institutional and policy guidance
Technical issues to be addressed towards long-term implementation targets
