Double space between and within references. For titles in reference lists, capitalize only the first word, the first word after
a colon or a dash, and proper nouns. Titles of books and periodicals should be italicized. Use the “author, publication”
date method for in-text references. Use the first word of the title to alphabetize if your source does not have an author.

APA does not require the citation to include the retrieval date or the name of a subscription database BUT individual professors
may require this information so that they can track your research. Check with your professor for his/her requirements

APA indicates that the retrieval date is required when the content you are citing is likely to be changed or updated or
when no fixed publication date, edition, or versions number can be cited. Since newspapers may have more
than one edition published during a day, it is best to include the “Retrieved …“ statement.
