Presented by:
Group 7 - Class 7A
Presented to:
Mr. Richel Gumban
Math Subject Teacher
Acknowledgment
We would like to acknowledge our leader Mavis Reine Tabang for coordinating the
group and for writing the narratives of each procedure and the flow chart. She also
helped in checking the Math Scaffold 3. We would also like to acknowledge Kim
Andrea, by working on the descriptions that are written in the paper. Reanne and Marc
Zuriel for helping and participating in writing Table No. 1 in Math Scaffold 3. Last but not
the least, Cher Althea for working on Table No. 2: Distribution of the Net Income and
writing this acknowledgment for the group. We thank every single one of you immensely
for accomplishing this PT assigned to us in the subject of SCIENCE and MATH. We
were able to finish working on our PT because of our hard work and for helping each
other to finish the task.
Naturally, we couldn't have done this without the help of our dear teachers. We thank
you, Miss Donna, for guiding us in completing our Final Performance Task, you
explained each instruction clearly and with clarity. We thank you Sir Gumban, for
instructing us in the making of our Math Scaffold 3. All of the teachers' and students'
efforts were not wasted and will be recognized by everyone involved in this Major
Performance Task. We thank you all for your hard work and may we continue to do well
in the second quarter and beyond.

Part I - Introduction
Flaws that give them limitations when helping the environment. The first is for the
garbage pollution. According to my observations, despite implementing strict
segregation, when there is a garbage truck present much of the trash that is dumped is
not segregated properly and many materials that can be recycled or reduced are thrown
away. The person in charge of making sure these laws are implemented properly may
not be responsible in doing their tasks, and the same with the residents who are not
segregating their trash properly. Second is the improper BADAC or Improper Barangay
Anti-Drugs Abuse Council. While many programs and projects are implemented to
alleviate this issue, they do not directly try to solve the root cause. Many drug users are
either detained or killed with no chance of rehabilitation. Mental health is a big factor
when it comes to the usage of drugs, if neglected, this will cause drug users to not
change and continue using these substances. Thus, it would harm the environment
because of the chemicals that are dumped, left behind in improper areas, or produced
when creating these drugs. Lastly, for the Sewage drainage, the project does help
significantly, especially when there is a flood. Albeit it would prove ineffective and can
even make the problem worse if people throw or dump their trash carelessly around the
areas.

Statement of the Problem
1: Sewage Draining
2: Garbage Pollution
1: To clear and clean up the sewages in the barangay to avoid clog up trashes and
floods when it rains.
3: To prevent drug use and its consequences reduce the number of illegal drug users
within the barangay.
Statement of Hypotheses
1: Disposing and minimizing trash around the surroundings will help lessen pollution in
the area, especially in sewages.
2: Avoid throwing trashes everywhere, make sure to put it in the right bin and try to
lessen the number of plastics that could be bought.
3: Consult or speak to a psychiatrist, so that they'll give advices on how to prevent from
taking illegal drugs. And also build sport programs or events to persuade them to do
activities.

Part II - Methodology
General Procedure
6
As a team of the CARE Philippines Research Committee assigned in Bacolod
City, we will first identify the areas in barangay 30 that are the most affected by garbage
pollution by conducting surveys with the residents and officials of the area. Once we
have confirmed the final results, we will identify the cause of the problem, the solution/s
done before, and the weaknesses of said solutions by observing the barangay face-to-
face and interviewing the people most knowledgeable concerning this problem. After
which we will discuss the new possible solutions that may solve it. When we have done
these requirements, we shall request and conduct an orientation or meeting with the
Purok leaders to propose the solutions and a fundraising activity to support the plan.
When it has been submitted and approved, we will create an allotted budget for the plan
and purchase the tools and necessary materials using the money from the fundraising
activity. Using the materials bought, we will implement the cleaning program in the
affected areas of barangay 30 and installed garbage bins that are classified according
to recyclable, biodegradable, and non-biodegradable to ensure the areas will remain
clean. Lastly, we will monitor and observe the whole barangay in order to evaluate the
results of our project.

Part IV: Conclusions and Recommendations
Conclusions
The solution to reducing our trash is undeniably beneficial and impactful. By
implementing comprehensive recycling programs and promoting waste segregation, we
can divert a significant portion of recyclable materials from landfills. Furthermore,
advocating for reusable products and reducing single-use items not only minimizes
waste but also conserves valuable resources. Educating the public on responsible
consumption and the importance of waste reduction is crucial, as it empowers
individuals to make sustainable choices. Leveraging technology and innovation in waste
management can also streamline the process, making it more efficient and less
wasteful. Government policies that incentive waste reduction and penalize excess
waste generation can further promote a culture of sustainability. In conclusion, the
solution's multifaceted approach offers a promising path towards a cleaner and more
environmentally
friendly future by significantly reducing our trash.
Recommendations
To improve our project in solving garbage pollution in Barangay 30, we
recommend that we create a program and convince them to volunteer to be cleaners in
exchange for supplies like food, school materials, etc. for the amount of garbage that
they collect or clean. Another solution is to conduct an orientation for the people in the
Barangay especially the young to inform them about the importance of disposing and
making use of trash properly. Encourage nearby schools to educate the children on how
to properly protect our environment and for the school to implement events that promote
taking care of our nature. For example, recycling plastics, tree planting, or anything that
can help reduce garbage pollution. Lastly is to inform the people in the Barangay to use
reusable plastic bags, cups, containers, and bottles so that we can reuse them rather
than throw away the plastic material after we have used them for only one time and
minimize the use of disposable products.
