Main problem being addressed/gap identified in the research proposal:

The main research problem is to assess the factors affecting inventory management to avoid
spoilage of meat and fish inventory in the Camp 7 satellite market. The identified gaps include
the lack of implementation of effective inventory management practices and technological
innovations, particularly in convenience stores and start-ups, leading to product deterioration.

We conducted this study to gain a deeper understanding of the factors of inventory

management of CAMP 7 and its usage to avoid spoilage. By exploring the usage of these
factors, we can provide practical insights to the vendors in terms of inventory management

We also decided to pursue this study as there is few related literature in the local and regional
regions regarding inventory management. Although there are some, these are already outdated.
Thus, by conducting this study, we will be able to have a deeper understanding regarding
inventory management and contribute to the existing knowledge.

Connection between the research and the Accountancy program:

The study is directly related to the Accountancy program as it focuses on inventory

management, a critical component of a business's financial and operational performance.
Effective inventory management is essential for ensuring reliable product supply, satisfying
customer demand, and maintaining profitability, which are key aspects of accounting and
financial management.

Reason for choosing the moderator variables:

Type of Product Offered: This variable is significant because different types of flesh foods (meat,
poultry, and fish) require specific handling and storage guidelines, affecting inventory
management strategies.

Restocking Frequency: This variable affects inventory order decisions and is crucial for
sustaining product availability, boosting sales, profits, and customer satisfaction.

Significance of the study/how beneficiaries will use the research:

Beneficiary 1: Vendors in the Camp 7 satellite market will benefit by gaining insights into
effective inventory management practices to reduce spoilage and improve profitability.

Beneficiary 2: Consumers will benefit from improved product quality and availability, leading to
better satisfaction.
Beneficiary 3: Local government units can use the findings to develop policies that support
market vendors in implementing better inventory management practices.

Beneficiary 4: Researchers and academicians can use the study as a reference for further
research in inventory management and related fields.

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

The research contributes to this goal by:

● Improving inventory management practices that ensure better food preservation
● Reducing spoilage of meat and fish products, making more food available for
consumption
● Ensuring consumers have access to safer and fresher food products
● Supporting food security through better management of perishable food items
● Indirectly contributing to better nutrition through improved food quality maintenance

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

The research supports this goal through:

● Helping small vendors maintain financial viability
● Improving business sustainability through better inventory practices
● Increasing earnings potential by reducing product waste
● Supporting local economic growth through more efficient business operations
● Creating conditions for sustainable business practices in the local market

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

This goal is directly addressed through:

● Assessment of factors affecting inventory management and spoilage control
● Contributing to the of food waste and loss
● Supporting SDG target 12.3 which aims to halve global food waste by 2030
● Promoting sustainable business practices in food retail
● Encouraging responsible handling of perishable food items

Relationship of the statement of the problem (SOP) to the research components:

SOP to Research Problem: The SOP directly addresses the research problem by focusing on
the factors affecting inventory management in the Camp 7 satellite market.
SOP to Questionnaire: The questionnaire is designed to gather data on the factors identified in
the SOP, ensuring alignment with the research objectives.

SOP to Likert Scale: The Likert scale is used to measure the respondents' perceptions and
attitudes towards the factors affecting inventory management,

Reason for the research design (Descriptive Quantitative):

The descriptive quantitative design is chosen to systematically collect and analyze data on
inventory management practices, allowing for the identification of patterns and relationships
between variables.

Inclusion/exclusion criteria for choosing respondents:

Inclusion: Vendors selling flesh foods (meat, poultry, and fish) in the Camp 7 satellite market.
Exclusion: Vendors selling non- perishable goods or other types of products.

Reliability testing:

Reliability testing will be conducted using Cronbach's alpha to assess the internal consistency of
the questionnaire items.

Reason for locale/population:

The Camp 7 satellite market is chosen due to its large population and the prevalence of
spoilage issues, providing a suitable context for studying inventory management practices.

Relatedness of the statistical treatment to the SOP:

The statistical treatments, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Weighted Mean, are used to
analyze the data in line with the SOP, helping to identify significant differences and assess the
usage of inventory management factors.
