The main research problem is to assess the factors affecting inventory management to avoid
spoilage of meat and fish inventory in the Camp 7 satellite market. The identified gaps include
the lack of implementation of effective inventory management practices and technological
innovations, particularly in convenience stores and start-ups, leading to product deterioration.
We also decided to pursue this study as there is few related literature in the local and regional
regions regarding inventory management. Although there are some, these are already outdated.
Thus, by conducting this study, we will be able to have a deeper understanding regarding
inventory management and contribute to the existing knowledge.
Type of Product Offered: This variable is significant because different types of flesh foods (meat,
poultry, and fish) require specific handling and storage guidelines, affecting inventory
management strategies.
Restocking Frequency: This variable affects inventory order decisions and is crucial for
sustaining product availability, boosting sales, profits, and customer satisfaction.
Beneficiary 1: Vendors in the Camp 7 satellite market will benefit by gaining insights into
effective inventory management practices to reduce spoilage and improve profitability.
Beneficiary 2: Consumers will benefit from improved product quality and availability, leading to
better satisfaction.
Beneficiary 3: Local government units can use the findings to develop policies that support
market vendors in implementing better inventory management practices.
Beneficiary 4: Researchers and academicians can use the study as a reference for further
research in inventory management and related fields.
SOP to Research Problem: The SOP directly addresses the research problem by focusing on
the factors affecting inventory management in the Camp 7 satellite market.
SOP to Questionnaire: The questionnaire is designed to gather data on the factors identified in
the SOP, ensuring alignment with the research objectives.
SOP to Likert Scale: The Likert scale is used to measure the respondents' perceptions and
attitudes towards the factors affecting inventory management,
The descriptive quantitative design is chosen to systematically collect and analyze data on
inventory management practices, allowing for the identification of patterns and relationships
between variables.
Inclusion: Vendors selling flesh foods (meat, poultry, and fish) in the Camp 7 satellite market.
Exclusion: Vendors selling non- perishable goods or other types of products.
Reliability testing:
Reliability testing will be conducted using Cronbach's alpha to assess the internal consistency of
the questionnaire items.
The Camp 7 satellite market is chosen due to its large population and the prevalence of
spoilage issues, providing a suitable context for studying inventory management practices.
The statistical treatments, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Weighted Mean, are used to
analyze the data in line with the SOP, helping to identify significant differences and assess the
usage of inventory management factors.
