- the present gen of the WWW
- people can collaborate and share infos online
Web 3.0
- the next gen
- data can be stored in multiple locations simultaneously unlike Web 2.0

Convergent Technologies
- Two or more technologies combine to form a new device (e.g. smartphone)

1. Can perform multiple features

Assistive Technologies
- Any device, applications, etc. that supports people with disabilities

Online Systems and Platforms


- services available on the internet
- includes online marketplaces, search engines, creative content outlets, and communication platforms
Online Marketplaces- a place to trade products and services online
Search Engines- used to retrieve infos online
Different ways to generate results:

Crawl- web crawlers (spiders) constantly search the internet


Index- data is analyzed, organized and stored

Search- search engine translates inputted words

Rank- search engine creates a list of results by what it thinks is the best answer

Creative Content Outlets- websites that utilize media to share products, services, person, or brand
Blog- written content that contains opinions and knowledge about several topics

Infographics- a collection of visual representation of information and data

Communication Platforms- used for collaborating and connecting with people across different distances
Microsoft 365- includes MS Teams, One Drive, Cloud Storage for editing and browsing chuchu

Google Workspace- secured collaboration for businesses

Online Collaborative Tools- involve remote people using tools that are available to everyone. It is cloud based

1. Synchronous- everyone exchanges infos. Instantaneously discusses topics. Prone to going off-topic
2. Asynchronous- self paced. Doesn’t require intensive thinking. Helps people focus on their productivity

1. Project Management Tools- for project and professional collaboration. Has reporting features and calendar
functions. (e.g. Trello- has boards to keep tasks organized)
2. Shared Calendars- keep people up to date with synced calendars
3. Instant Messaging Tools- lets people communicate instantly (e.g. Messenger and Discord)
4. File Sharing Tools- keeps files securely backed up (e.g. Google Drive and OneDrive)

1. Choosing the correct content- content should be useful to the creator and audience
2. Personalized Thoughts- add thoughts that reflect perspectives

5. Feedly- content from popular sources. Organize content from publications, tweets, blogs, etc.
