that we do.

12. GOSPEL: A reading from the Gospel according to St. Luke.
[SUPREMO] [Glory to you Lord, Jesus Christ.]

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up;

and he went to the synagogue, as his custom was, on the
Sabbath day. And he stood up to read; and there was
given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened
the book and found the place where it was written,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has
anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has
sent me to proclaim release to the captives and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who
are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the
Lord.”
And he closed the book, and gave it back to the
attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the
synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to
them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your
hearing.” And all spoke well of him, and wondered at the
gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth; and
they said, “Is not this Joseph’s son?” And he said to them,
“Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, ‘Physician,
heal yourself; what we have heard you did at Capernaum-
um, do here also in your own country.” And he said,
“Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his own
country. But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows
in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut
up three years and six months, when there came a great
famine over all the land; and Elijah was sent to none of
them but only to Zar´ephath, in the land of Sidon, to a
woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in
Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha; and none of them
was cleansed, but only Na´aman the Syrian.” When they
heard this, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath.
And they rose up and put him out of the city, and led him
to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that
they might throw him down headlong. But passing
through the midst of them he went away.

The Gospel of the Lord.

[Praise to You Lord, Jesus Christ.]
13. Jesus’ experience in Nazareth highlights a significant
REFLECTION: challenge we all face in living out our faith: the challenge
[ALACIDA]
of familiarity. Often, those closest to us may struggle to
see the transformative work God is doing in our lives.
They may doubt our calling or dismiss the changes we’ve
undergone. This can be discouraging, especially when we
feel the call to share the good news, to bring healing, and
to stand up for justice in our communities.

However, Jesus’ response to rejection is instructive. He

does not let the disbelief of others deter Him from His
mission. He continues to preach, heal, and deliver those in
need, undeterred by the opposition. This teaches us that
our calling is not dependent on others’ acceptance but on
our obedience to God.
14. PETITION: Gathered by God’s command to seek new ways to
[PARISTA]
discover his will in our lives, we turn to him in prayer:
Response: "Lord, hear our prayer."
For the Church, that the Spirit of God will make her
a prophetic voice in the world, upholding gospel values.
Let us pray to the Lord.

For the world and all its peoples,

that richer nations will avoid self interest
and learn to share their wealth with the poor.
Let us pray to the Lord.

For all who are called to be prophets today,

that the Spirit of Christ will sustain and empower them
to witness to the truth from which society hides.
Let us pray to the Lord.

For all who are held captive or are unjustly imprisoned,

that their hope may remain strong
and their freedom soon be secured.
Let us pray to the Lord.

For all Christians, that we will be strengthened

in our commitment to deny ourselves, take up our crosses
and live lives of true discipleship.
Let us pray to the Lord.

For the sick and the suffering, the elderly and infirm,
the anxious, the fearful and those who are alone,
that they will experience the infinite love of God.
Let us pray to the Lord.

Gracious God,
we ask you to hear our prayers
and grant that we may draw closer to you each day.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Gathering our prayers into one, let us now pray that Jesus
Himself taught us, Our father.
15. AUDIO PRESENTATION: Our Father
16. Hail Mary Let us ask the intercession of the Virgin Mary.
[LUMILANG]
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art
thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.
17. Glory Be Let us glorify our Triune God.
[LUMILANG]
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be
forever. Amen.
18. Closing Thank you, Lord, for your presence with us this day. As we
prayer: depart from this space now, we ask you to bless us
[LALANAN]
throughout the remainder of the day and guide us safely
home. Do not let the learning and conversations of this
gathering die, but, instead, may they continue to
ruminate within us and bear fruit in our ministries
throughout the year, until we find ourselves together
again. We ask this in the name of Jesus, and in the power
of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
