Raspberry Pi 4 Model B+:

 It features significant improvements over its predecessors, including a faster processor, more RAM options,
USB 3.0 ports, dual-band Wi-Fi, and 4K video support.
 The board is powered by a Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 processor running at up to 1.5
GHz, making it suitable for a wide range of projects, from basic computing to multimedia applications and IoT
projects.

32-bit Legacy Raspbian OS:

 Raspbian OS, now known as Raspberry Pi OS, is the official operating system for Raspberry Pi devices.
 The 32-bit legacy version of Raspbian OS refers to the older version of the operating system designed to run
on 32-bit ARM architecture, which is compatible with older Raspberry Pi models.
 While newer Raspberry Pi models like the Pi 4 B+ support 64-bit architecture, they can still run the 32-bit
version of Raspbian OS for compatibility with older software and projects.

Key Features and Capabilities:

 Desktop Environment: Raspbian OS provides a user-friendly desktop environment based on the LXDE
(Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) with a range of pre-installed applications such as a web browser,
office suite, programming tools, and multimedia players.
 Package Management: It includes tools like apt (Advanced Package Tool) for easy package installation,
updates, and management.
 GPIO and Hardware Support: Raspbian OS includes libraries and utilities for GPIO (General Purpose
Input/Output) programming, allowing users to interact with external hardware and sensors using Python or
other programming languages.
 Software Development: It comes with a range of development tools and programming languages pre-
installed, including Python, Scratch, Java, and C/C++, making it suitable for educational purposes and
software development projects.
 Networking and Connectivity: Raspbian OS supports various networking options, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi,
and Bluetooth, enabling connectivity with other devices and the internet.
 Multimedia Support: The OS includes software for multimedia playback and editing, supporting formats like
video, audio, and images.
 Customization: Users can customize the OS by installing additional software packages, themes, and
extensions to suit their specific needs and preferences.

Hardware Features:
 Processor: Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC (System-on-Chip) running at
1.5GHz.
 RAM: 4 GB LPDDR4-3200 SDRAM, providing ample memory for multitasking and running resource-intensive
applications.
 Storage: MicroSD card slot for storage expansion and operating system installation. The Raspberry Pi does
not have built-in storage but relies on external storage through the microSD card.

 Connectivity:
o Wireless LAN: Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac wireless LAN, supporting high-
speed Wi-Fi connectivity.
o Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.0, providing wireless connectivity for peripherals, IoT devices, and audio
streaming.
o Ethernet: Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps) port for fast wired network connectivity.
 USB Ports:
o Two USB 3.0 ports for high-speed data transfer with compatible devices.
o Two USB 2.0 ports for connecting peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and USB drives.
 Video Output:
o Dual micro HDMI ports supporting resolutions up to 4K (4096x2160 pixels) at 60Hz refresh rate.
o H.265 (4Kp60 decode), H.264 (1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode) capable video output.
 Audio:
o 3.5mm stereo audio and composite video output.
o HDMI audio output for digital audio transmission over HDMI.
 GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output): 40-pin GPIO header for interfacing with external devices, sensors,
and components. Supports digital input/output, analog input, PWM, I2C, SPI, and UART communication.
 Power:
o Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support with a separate PoE HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) accessory.
o Power supply via USB-C connector (5V DC, 3A) for efficient and stable power delivery.
 Cooling:
o Improved thermal management compared to earlier models, allowing for better heat dissipation
during operation.
o Optional fan or heatsinks can be added for active cooling if required for demanding applications.
o Form Factor: Similar form factor to previous Raspberry Pi models, with dimensions of approximately
85.6mm x 56.5mm x 17mm.
 Operating System: Supports various operating systems including Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian),
Ubuntu, and other Linux distributions, as well as Windows 10 IoT Core.
