Abstract
Abstract
Objective – This study aims to investigate the relationship between flow state and employee
performance, wellbeing and productivity
Method – In this review paper almost 25 research papers were collected from various websites
including google scholar and researchgate. All the relevant papers were thoroughly studied and
finally, conclusions were drawn.
Flow refers to a state of being completely absorbed in an activity. It may be any activity from
work to recreation. Being involved in a task that aligns with the interest of the individual and creates a
sense of fulfillment and contentment in oneself leads to a sense of meaningfulness in one’s life as
well. Understanding how to enter the flow state, and maintain it, therefore, is seen as a great way to
enjoy the activities we get engaged in.
Results and conclusion – The findings demonstrate that being in a flow state positively impacts
one’s productivity, contributing to a sense of achievement, confirming the first hypothesis. Employees
in flow state reported more motivation levels as well. They experience deeper enjoyment and higher
creativity boost.
