humans.
Performance Based Standard: The learners should be able to list down activities which they can perform
at home, in school, or in their neighborhood to keep the environment clean.
I. Objective:
a. Describe how human activities affect the environment and suggest solutions to minimize negative
impacts.
b. Perform simple actions to protect the environment, such as segregating waste, watering plants, or
picking up litter in the classroom.
c. Show concern for the environment by participating in discussions on how to maintain cleanliness and
awareness about how to maintain and preserve the community or environment.
a. Greetings - The teacher and the learners will greet each other
c. Checking of Attendance – The teacher will ask the classroom secretary for the list of absent
d. Review Previous Lesson – The teacher and the learners will review previous topic about Ecosystem
and the basic needs (food, water, air, shelter); How do plants help maintain clean air for humans and
animals; and what will happen if one of the basic needs (food, water, air, or shelter) is missing in an
ecosystem.
ACTIVITY
The teacher will present a video clip about "Save the Planet." It contains themes on how the world is
being destroyed due to human actions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtf1eHBlh14
The teacher will ask questions about the video and whether they would want the disasters shown in the
video to happen in real life.
After that, the teacher will show a picture depicting environmental cleanup. The students will be asked
to guess what is happening in the image.

PROTECTING ENVIRONMENT
Protecting the environment is important for maintaining a healthy planet for current and future
generations. It involves actions that reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, and promote
sustainable living.
What harms the environment?
1. Pollution - air, water, and soil pollution from industries, vehicles, and waste.
If pollution does not stop, Earth will suffer from extreme climate change, dirty air and water, loss of
animals and plants, and more natural disasters it could become difficult for humans and other living
things to survive.
2. Overpopulation - happens when there are too many people in an area, and the resources like food,
water, and space are not enough for everyone.
3. Climate change - meaning the Earth's weather is changing over a long time. It causes extreme heat,
strong storms, rising sea levels, and harm to nature and people.
If climate change continues, Earth will get hotter. Animals will lose their homes, food will become harder
to grow, and people may suffer from heatwaves, floods, and other natural disasters.
The teacher will show an image of a place in Manila filled with buildings. She will also present a video
they recorded while on an airplane, showing how many buildings can be seen from the sky over Manila.
