ACCESSING YOUR TEMPLATE

To open your purchased template, click on the PDF link to
open the template, then click “Use template for new design.”

CREATING A CANVA ACCOUNT

If you haven't done so yet, sign up for a free Canva
account to begin editing the design.

You can create a Canva account www.canva.com

using your email address, Apple

account, Google account, Facebook
account and more.

You can use the Canva app on your

smart device or use Canva.com on
your computer.
 HOW TO USE CANVAS TOOLBAR

EDITING TEXT
It's time to edit! Select the text you wish to modify. Once you
have made your changes, click outside the text box to finish.
When you click the text you want to edit, you will also see this box pop up. You can use Magic
Write (AI) to write your text with so many different options! Next to Magic write, is the
“Duplicate text” icon. Next to this you have bin (delete the text) & the 3 dots have “copy, paste,
select, layer & many other options.

ADDING ELEMENTS TO THE DESIGN

1. Click the "Elements" option located on the left-
hand toolbar.
2. Utilize the search bar to find your desired element,
such as Dried flowers, Arrow, Computer, Butterfly –
the possibilities are endless!
3. After searching for your specific element, you will
be presented with various options below the search
bar, including: All, Graphics, Photos, Videos, Shapes,
Audio, Frames & Charts. Canva offers a wide array of
editing choices to enhance your creativity!

CHANGING ELEMENT COLOR

This is the above toolbar you will see when clicking the element you want
to modify. The colors it will show, depends on the element.

1. Click on the Element you wish to modify. The toolbar above

the editor will display one or more color tiles, depending on
the number of colors the selected element has.
2. Select the color tile you want to adjust. Your Document
Colors and other suggestions will be visible on the left-hand
side panel of the editor.
3. Apply the chosen color by clicking on a color tile for the
selected element. If there are multiple editable colors in the
element, you must modify each one separately by clicking
on the corresponding color in the toolbar above.
4. Note that not all added elements may be editable,
depending on their color options.

ADDING IMAGES TO THE DESIGN

1. Click “Uploads” on the left hand toolbar.

2. Select “Upload Files”

3. Locate your files and upload.

4. After you have uploaded your image, it

will appear under the images tab. Click

or drag & drop it into your design.

ADDING IMAGES TO A GRID OR FRAME

Please upload your image by dragging and
dropping it into the grid. Afterward, you can
adjust the grid by clicking on it and resizing
the photo's placement. Grids can be
customized to various configurations, as
illustrated in the images shown.

ADDING YOUR OWN GRIDS/ FRAMES

1. Click elements on the left hand toolbar.
2. Scroll down until you see Frames or Grids.
3. Click into the section you would like, and
you can choose from a variety of options to
add to your design!
 CHANGING THE BACKGROUND

CHANGING THE DESIGN BACKGROUND

1. Click the design background and the above toolbar
will appear. You will see a the color tile displaying
one color. Click on it.
2. The “Document Colors” menu will show on the left-
hand side of the screen with the current color and
other suggestions.
3. You can use the rainbow tile to create your own
color - You can also click on the color you want to
use and have the option to use the “Gradient”
option to blend more than one color to your design!

ADDING BRAND COLORS ( PRO ONLY USERS )

In the same section described above for
background colors, you will see below
Document Colors, that section that says
“Colors” Here, you can create your own
brand colors! For example, I have added a
photo of my own brand colors.

To adjust or add colors, simply click on

"Edit" next to the "Colors" heading. This
feature is exclusive to the Pro Version, but
you can experiment with Canva for free for
a 30-day trial.

You can also access this section by clicking

off the section, and on the left-hand side
tools under camera roll, you will see “Brand”
here you can add your brand logo, color
palette and so much more!
 DOWNLOADING & SAVING YOUR DESIGN / HOW TO PRINT

RENAMING THE DESIGN IN CANVA

All your designs are automatically saved to your Canva account’s iCloud
storage, so that you can easily access them in the future. You can re-
name the Canva design - Or you can keep the name as is. To re-name
your design in Canva, click “File” on the top left-hand corner of the screen.
Click the title and change.

DOWNLOADING THE DESIGN

1. Click the download button on the top right-hand
corner of the screen. It is the icon at the end.
2. Next, from the drop down menu click “Download”
3. Then, on the next menu click “File Type” you will
have a variety of file type options to choose from.
Choose your desired download option.
4. E-books should be downloaded as PDFS, Logos are
best downloaded as PNG with the “Transparent”
select option.
5. Choose the pages you want to download. You can
choose all, or choose a selected few.
6. Canva will then download your design. Please
Note, if you are downloading a PDF on a smart
device (phone or tablet) After the download is
complete, you will see an option to “Save To Files”
Please make sure you select this option,
otherwise you will need to re-save the PDF.

PRINTING
1. To get the design ready for printing, when saving
following the directions above, in the “File Type”
menu, click “PDF Print” to ensure your design is
saved in the highest quality. You will also have
options below to help with the design printing.
