Part 2: Long Turn

Question 1: Describe an area of science that interests you

I am very interested in physics, especially the study of motion and energy. I first learned about it
in high school, and I found it fascinating because it explains many things in our daily lives, like
how objects move or why the sky is blue. One of my favorite topics in physics is space
exploration. I love reading about astronauts and how they travel to space, which makes me
curious about the universe. I usually watch documentaries or read books about scientific
discoveries. Physics is also very useful in engineering and construction, which is related to my
studies. I believe physics is important because it helps us invent new technologies and
understand how the world works. Without physics, we wouldn’t have cars, airplanes, or even
electricity. That’s why I enjoy learning about it.

Question 2: Describe a polite person you know

I want to talk about my grandmother. She is one of the most polite people I know. She always
speaks gently, listens carefully, and never interrupts others. She greets people with a smile and
always thanks them for their help. One time, I saw her helping a stranger carry heavy bags at the
market, and she did it without expecting anything in return. She also teaches me to be polite by
reminding me to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ in daily conversations. She is very kind to
everyone, even to strangers. For example, if she sees someone struggling with something, she
always offers to help. She also respects people’s opinions and never argues aggressively. I
admire her kindness and respect for others, and I try to follow her example in my life because I
believe being polite makes the world a better place.

Question 3: Describe a popular fashion item in your country

In my country, jeans are one of the most popular fashion items. People of all ages wear jeans
because they are comfortable, stylish, and suitable for many occasions. There are different types
of jeans, such as skinny jeans, ripped jeans, and high-waisted jeans. Many young people like
ripped jeans because they look trendy and fashionable. Jeans are also easy to match with
different tops, like T-shirts or sweaters. I personally wear jeans almost every day because they
are practical and never go out of style. Another reason jeans are so popular is that they can be
worn in both casual and semi-formal settings, making them very multi-purpose. Many famous
brands produce jeans, and they come in different colors and styles, so people can choose the ones
that suit them best. Some people even customize their jeans by adding patches or designs to
make them unique. This makes jeans not only a fashion item but also a way to express personal
style.

Question 4: Describe a time you got bored

Last summer, I had to stay at home for a whole week because of bad weather, and I felt
extremely bored. I had no exciting activities to do, and I kept checking my phone every few
minutes. I tried watching TV, but nothing interesting was on. Then, I decided to read a book that
I had bought months ago but never started. Surprisingly, I got so interested in the story that I
forgot about my boredom. After that, I realized that I should always find something meaningful
to do instead of just complaining about being bored. Another time, I got bored while waiting for
my friend at a café. I didn’t want to just sit there, so I started writing in my journal about my day.
It helped me pass the time and also made me feel productive. From these experiences, I have
learned that boredom can be a chance to do something creative or useful instead of wasting time
doing nothing.

Question 5: Describe an exotic food that you have tried

I tried durian last year, which is a tropical fruit with a very strong smell. Some people love it, but
others find it unpleasant. At first, I didn’t like it because of the strong odor, but after a few bites,
I found it creamy and sweet. It has a unique taste, very different from other fruits I have eaten. I
know that not everyone enjoys durian, but I think it is worth trying at least once. Besides durian,
I have also tried sushi and Korean kimchi, which were interesting experiences. Trying new food
is a great way to learn about different cultures and expand my taste preferences. I remember
trying durian with my friends, and we had different reactions—some of us loved it, while others
couldn’t stand the smell. It was a fun experience, and it made me appreciate how diverse food
can be around the world. Now, I enjoy durian, but I always eat it in small amounts because of its
strong flavor.

Question 6: Describe a skill that takes time to learn

I want to talk about playing the guitar. It is a skill that takes a long time to master. I started
learning it last year, but I still find it challenging. At first, my fingers hurt when I played, and I
struggled to remember the chords. However, after practicing every day, I improved little by little.
Now, I can play some simple songs, but I know I still have a lot to learn. I think learning any
skill requires patience and dedication. Playing the guitar is fun because it allows me to express
myself through music, and one day, I hope to be able to perform in front of my friends
confidently. Learning an instrument also helps improve concentration and creativity. I remember
when I first played a full song, I felt really proud of myself. It took months of practice, but it was
worth it. I think anyone who wants to learn an instrument should not give up easily, because the
effort pays off in the end.

Question 7: Describe an exciting journey you once took

You should say : when and where you went on the journey, what kind of transport you used,
what happened on the journey, Explain what you remember most about the journey
