2023 UNIVERSITY EARLY-ENTRY PROGRAMMES

What is Early Entry?

You could receive an offer for your 2023 studies before you sit your ATAR exams – if you’re
successful you would receive an offer much sooner than you would through the traditional VTAC
university application process. Many of the programmes will give you an offer in August, September
or October.

Early Entry could be for you if you …

have good grades

have sporting achievements

are recommended by your school

are an artist or musician

are active in your community

are a rural applicant

have leadership experience

have been disadvantaged

A selection board will look at a combination of factors including your results, any awards or
achievements you have received, test results, auditions, portfolios and more to decide if they want to
make you an early offer.
Every programme is different, and all have different eligibility criteria, so check that you meet the
criteria before you start your application.
Not every university offers Early Entry programmes so if you can’t find a programme you want
to attend then you may need to apply as per normal procedure.
If you are successful in receiving an Early Offer it is still that - for some universities,
(eg., Monash, La Trobe and University of Melbourne) a ‘guaranteed’ offer still requires the minimum
ATAR set by the university is met, eligibility criteria are met and the course is placed as your highest
preference on VTAC. You must search out the criteria for each early offer programme.
Programmes are subject to change at any time - so always continue to check directly with the
provider before applying - even give them a call to clarify any queries you may have.
