A Detailed Lesson Plan in English in Grade 4

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, 75% of the learners will be able to:
a. Identified the different types of adverbs (adverb of manner, place and time)
in sentences/ selection.
b. Written sentences using the different types of adverbs; and
c. Expressed the importance of using adverbs in sentences.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Using Adverbs of Manner, Time, and Place
References: Textbook in English 4

Materials: Laptop, PowerPoint, Visuals aids, chalk, chalkboard, picture


cards.
Teaching Strategies: cooperative learning approach and practical
approach

A. Preparation

1. Opening Prayer
Everyone please stands up for our prayer.
Repeat after me.

Lord God, I pray that I will have the wisdom and


strength to know your goodness and provision. I
pray I can place my identity in You. Amen Amen…

2. Greetings
Good morning class? Good morning teacher,
good morning classmate

How are you today? Feeling good teacher.

3. Classroom Management
Before we will start, kindly arrange your chairs,
pick up some pieces of paper and put in the
garbage bin.

Are we done? Yes teacher.

4. Checking of attendance
Say present if your name is called.

Lora, Ninvie
Tinoy, Jeramae Present teacher.
Present teacher.

Okay very good class. Clap your hands for the


perfect attendance today. Everybody clap their
hands.

B. Review

What was our topic last meeting? About verbs teacher

Okay. Very good! How about the others?

Last time we discussed about verbs. Now I have here


some pictures. Look at them and give a verb related to
the picture. (Teacher flashes the picture one by one and (A student will raise her

Okay very good. Thank you (Jeramae). Let’s give her 5 (students will do the 5

So what is a verb? (A verb is a word which describes


an action , occurrence or mode of being )

Please be ready because we are going to dicuss a new


lesson.
C. Motivation

⮚ Let’s imagine that we are walking in our
ancestral domain.
⮚ Can you guess what words is in the first box?
Clue: it’s a location or place and answer the
question where.
⮚ How about the second box?
Clue: it refers to when the action is done. (the students are
participating and raise
⮚ How about the last box? We need to guess this his/her hands)

Adverbs are words that describe or modify a verb, an
adjective and another adverb. (the students will listen)
There are different types of adverbs.
However, let us focus first on the following:
1. Adverbs of Manner
2. Adverbs of Time
3. Adverbs of Place
