ULTRASONOGRAPHY OF ABDOMEN & PELVIS
Findings:
Liver: Normal in size (10.1 cm), shape and echotexture. No focal lesions. No evidence of intrahepatic biliary radical
dilatation. Hepatic and portal veins appear normal. Porta hepatis and hepatic artery appears normal. Intrahepatic IVC
appears normal.
Gall bladder: Well distended. Wall and Pericholecystic area appears normal.
Pancreas: Normal in morphology and echotexture. No calculus / mass lesion. Pancreatic duct appears normal.
Peripancreatic area appears normal.
Retroperitoneum: Obscured by bowel gas. Visualized aorta and IVC appears normal.
Spleen: Normal in size (6.6 cm) and architecture. No focal lesions. Splenic vein appears normal.
Kidneys: Normal in shape and position. No calculus.
Right kidney measures 5.4 x 2.3 cm. Parenchymal thickness measures 6.2 mm. Cortical echotexture is mildly increased.
Cortico-medullary differentiation is poorly maintained. Mild hydroureteronephrosis with AP diameter of renal pelvis
measuring 8.8 mm and distal ureter measuring 6.5 mm.
Left kidney measures 7 x 2.8 cm. Parenchymal thickness measures 10.8 mm. Cortical echotexture is normal. Cortico-
medullary differentiation is maintained. Dilatation of pelvicalyceal system with AP diameter of renal pelvis
measuring 8.2 mm. Left ureter is not dilated at present study.
Urinary bladder: Well distended. Diffuse wall thickening noted measuring 2.5 mm. Mobile internal echoes in
urine. No obvious diverticulum seen. Pre void - 178 cc. Post void - 9.4 cc.

DRAFT
Prostate appears normal for age.
No evidence of ascites.
No significant lymphadenopathy.
Visualized bowel loops appears normal.
IMPRESSION:
• Small sized right kidney with grade II parenchymal changes and mild hydroureteronephrosis.
• Dilatation of left renal pelvicalyceal system.
• Diffuse urinary bladder wall thickening with mobile internal echoes in urine.
