INTRODUCTION:

 This is the story of a 12-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, USA who wanted to make her dream
come true. She went from singing in bars to sold-out stadiums worldwide.
 You might know of her as Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift’s fame has been growing expediently
recently, so taking the time to understand her life can help you grasp the excitement
surrounding her. I have been a fan of her for over 5 years and she is one of my favorite
artists, so I am familiar with her career. Taylor Swift has been a global phenomenon from the
start of her music career, leading her to be one of the most influential musicians of all time,
because of her amazing lyrical and musical abilities. But even to her unforeseen events can
happen.
 Through this speech, I will introduce how she started in the music industry, her success
through the years, and her process of re-recording her old albums.

BODY:

 Taylor Swift’s early career


 FIRSTLY, Taylor was born in Pennsylvania on the 13th of December 1989.
 Taylor Swift has always been interested in arts as a young kid, so she took vocal and acting
lessons during her childhood, but ultimately, she chose to focus more on music feeling
inspired by Shaina Twain.
 When she was 12 years old, she had her first small breakthrough with music. While she was
home, a computer repairman helped her write her first song on the guitar, called “Lucky”.
 When she was 14 her family moved to Nashville for her to get better opportunities as an
upcoming musician. That is how she got discovered by her first label Big Machine Records,
which would end up releasing Swift’s first 6 albums.
 After the success of her debut self-titled album, Taylor Swift released her sophomore album
“Fearless”, which became more successful. Fearless won multiple awards that year, making it
one of the most award-winning country albums.

This early start in her career paved the way for her accomplishments in the industry but her
storytelling got her where she is now…
Her success stems not from an early start in the music industry, but from her exceptional
storytelling ability.

 Taylor's success
 As Taylor Swift said in her documentary called “Miss Americana” “Everyone has something
unique in the music industry her storytelling sets her apart from everybody else, and without
it, she would not be where she is now”
 As I mentioned Taylor writes her music, so understandably her songs are drawn from
personal experiences, which is why her music is so relatable.
 E.g. Soon you will get better, and it resonated with a lot of people.
 AGAIN, that is why she has fans, because of this rare combination of lyricism and musical
production that creates amazing songs full of emotions.
 That is why she recently won her fourth Grammy for Album of the Year, making her the only
female artist to hold that record.
 ONE OF HER MOST RECENT SUCCESSES is her sold-out ongoing tour, “The Eras Tour,” which
is one of the highest-earning music tours ever. She performs for three hours straight,
performing songs from each album era.
However, her success did not stop her old record label from selling her first 6 albums.
But success comes with unfortunate events too.

 Re-recording her old masters


 In 2019, her music catalog was sold for $330 million without her consent. This led her to
decide to re-record her albums, meaning she would own her life’s work. As she mentioned
in an interview “If I made those albums, I could make them again.”
 This process is still in progress, she released 4 of the 6 albums. But because she wanted the
re-recordings to have more value and drive the old ones out of the marker and the charts,
she added never-released songs called “From the Vault” that were supposed to be included
in the old albums but did not make the cut.

CONCLUSION:

 This is the story of Taylor Swift, this is how she made her dream come true.
 So, we can see why Taylor Swift is so popular, her remarkable work ethic explains her
immense success. Her songwriting talent creates songs that people can connect to. Her
dedication to owning her music expanded her impact and fame significantly.
 Ultimately, it’s clear that Taylor Swift has consistently proven herself to be a remarkably
successful artist.
