III. MATERIALS
a. Part I
• 50 mL or 100 mL graduated cylinder
• Metal pieces (e.g, aluminum, copper, and zin)
• Distilled water
• Weighing scale
• Any liquid (glycerol, water, cooking oil, diesel oil)
b. Part II
• Stopwatch
• Graduated cylinder
• Measuring scale/ruler
• Beads/Marble
• Any liquid (glycerol, water, cooking oil, diesel oil)
IV. PROCEDURES:
a. Part I
For Metal
We will use the water displacement method to determine the density of a metal object.
1. Obtain a metal object and record its name on the table
2. Weigh the metal object and record the appropriate number of significant
figures/ digits in the table
3. Pour a 50 mL of water in the cylinder and put the metal object on it.
4. Use the volume displacement method to measure its volume.
5. Calculate the volume of the object and record it
6. Calculate the density of the object and record it
For Liquid
1. Measure the mass of the graduated cylinder
2. Obtain a sample of distilled water (any quantity of your choice) and determine
its mass and volume. Record your data on the table.
3. Calculate the density of the distilled water (any quantity of your choice) and
record on the table.
b. Part II
1. Put 50 mL of liquid in a graduated cylinder.
2. Put a piece of marble on the liquid and record the time it reaches to the
bottom.
3. Repeat the procedure up to 3 marbles

V. RESULTS AND OBSERVATION:
