Answer these questions and submit your answer to BB and e-portfolio (Due at the end of lab)

0) List your Group Members at the top of your submission.

1) Present your fisheries data in the table from Part 1.

2) Explain your rationale for your fishing strategy in Part 1.

3) What happened to the common resource in Part 1? Did everyone try to take as many fish as
possible? Did anyone in your group of 4-6 take too many fish? How did that make you feel? Do you
believe that society rewards those with the “most”?

4) Did anyone sacrifice by taking fewer fish than allowed for the good of the community? Why or why
not? Does society ever reward that type of person?

5) Present your fisheries data in the table from Part 2

6) Did you get different results for the pond in Part 2? Why?

7) Explain the rationale for your group’s fishing strategy in Part 2.

8) Present your fisheries data in the table from Part 3.

9) Explain the rationale for your group’s fishing strategy in Part 3.

10) Why does common usage with a lack of coordination and information lead to non-sustainable
exploitation?

11) What would be the ideal way to manage any common pond for maximum sustainable yield? (Think
of the strategies you used.)

12) List 3 examples of commons resources in this country. How would you propose managing them for
long-term exploitation and survival?

Common resources are fish in the ocean. The way to moderate this would be to maximize the amount of
fish a specific boat could catch, and maximize the amount of boats that can be in the water during a
single season.
