Purpose:
To enable student to appreciate theories that contributes to personality development.
Course Content:
Definition of a theory; definition of personality; goals of a personality theory; components of a
standard personality theory; personality theories: Freud’s classical psychoanalytic theory of
personality: Jung’s analytical theory of personality; George Kelly’s personal construct theory;
Alfred Adler’s theory of personality; Allport and Cartel’s trait theories of personality; Albert
Bandura and Julian Rotter’s theories of personality.
