I. Objectives

B. Motivation:
Read a short, engaging story about a character (e.g., “Timmy the Tech-Safe Turtle”) who learns
how to use the internet safely. Ask the students:
1. Teaching/Modeling
o Introduce digital safety:
“Digital safety means knowing how to use computers,
tablets, or phones without getting into trouble or danger.”
o Explain three simple rules:
Rule 1: Always ask a parent or teacher before going online.
Rule 2: Never talk to strangers online or share personal
information like your name, school, or address.
Rule 3: If you see something that makes you feel scared or
confused, tell an adult you trust.
2. Analysis/Abstraction
o Show pictures or flashcards of safe and unsafe online actions.
o Ask:
“Is it okay to talk to someone you don’t know online?”
“Who will you tell if you see something bad on your tablet
or phone?”
3. Guided Practice
o Role-play activity:
Give scenarios (e.g., a stranger sends a message in a
game, an ad pops up asking for personal details).
Let students act out the correct safe behavior.
IV. Application
Provide students with coloring sheets showing Timmy the Turtle holding a sign that says “Be
Safe Online!” Ask them to color it and write one digital safety rule they learned.
V. Generalization:
Review the three digital safety rules and emphasize their importance. Use a simple chant to help
students remember:
