3. INSTALLATION

Ensure that power is completely removed from the host machine prior
to installation

Take note that the cashbox does not physically lock into the chassis.
When removing the unit from the original packaging, take care not to lift and
carry via the yellow handle on the cashbox. Doing so may result in the
chassis/acceptor detaching from the cashbox, causing damage

3.1 Installing the Chassis

• Most models come equipped with a configuration-specific installed to the Interface

Card (IFC), located within the housing of the Chassis. Connect the interface
cable to the host machine. Make sure to dress all wires to avoid interference with
any other equipment or enclosure

• Depending on the model of SC Advance™ used, there may be up to 18 mounting
holes provided on the chassis to aide in fixing the unit to the host enclosure.
These holes have been pre-tapped for M4 screws

If internal mounting considerations allow, install the unit with all

mounting hardware loose. Gently close the host enclosure door in order to
make the necessary adjustments so that the minimum clearances are met
between the door and the Bill Entry Guide (BEG), if installed. Gently open the
door, once again assuring that no interference is seen between the door and
the BEG. If no interference is seen, carefully tighten all mounting hardware.
Refer to the latest Integration Manual CD (P/N 252058039) for full details of
installation and mounting considerations

3.2 Acceptor Installation and Removal

• To remove, grasp the Acceptor firmly and lift the lower release bar

Standard 5/8” and 1-1/8” type locks are supported. Due to the significant variation in
lock designs, spacers / washers may be required for some lock types. Contact CPI
for Cashbox lock specification, if needed

Each Cashbox is supplied with two (2) locking hasps

Locks vary greatly in price, security, keying policies, etc. The customer is responsible
for selecting a lock with performance that is fit for the intended purpose. CPI does not
test or endorse any specific brand of lock for security characteristics

When only one lock is used, the remaining blank hole does not give access to the
contents of the cashbox. However, some jurisdictions may require a blanking plug.
Contact CPI for assistance in obtaining a suitable plug

When two locks are installed, they must rotate in opposite directions
