Extra Oneway ANOVA Problem

A social psychologist conducted an experiment to examine how audience size impacts running performance in an 800-meter race. The study involved 15 participants divided into three groups based on the number of spectators: 0, 50, and 100 people. An ANOVA will be performed to analyze the differences in running times across these groups at an alpha level of 0.05.

A social psychologist conducts an experiment to test the effects of social facilitation on the

performance of running 800 meters. To test whether audience size affects running speed, she
selects 15 random participants from a larger population. Each participant is randomly assigned to
one of three conditions. Within each group participants run 800 meters with 0 people watching,
50 people watching, or 100 people watching. The IV is number of people watching and the DV
is number of seconds it takes the runners to run 800 meters. Conduct an ANOVA to test for any
statistically significant differences between groups. Test at alpha = .05.
