Piff’s Quest For The Perfect Bathtub


NOTE: This story is an adaptation of a cartoon I made of Piff the Pufferfish going on a
shopping trip to find a bathtub.

Corey and Oats had many friends including numerous fish friends, one fish friend that
had many wild and crazy adventures was Piff. Piff was a brown anthropomorphic
pufferfish with a white stomach who came from Japan, Piff was known for his cheeky
and quirky personality and his tendency to flirt with female fish - but his OTFL (One true
fish love) was Tangie, an anthropomorphic female fish with orange hair and orange and
green skin who was part angelfish-girl.

Tangie and Piff had been dating for more than a year now and they were a couple, and
he always flirted with her and told her about his bath-tub related exploits (usually
involving having ‘affairs’) and he liked to read her mind and see if he could guess what
bath bomb scent is her favorite - she knew which one was her favorite (i.e blue ocean)
but she liked to pretend she had a different favorite to trick him.

One day at their home in Nile Road, Piff was talking to Tangie and whispering to her (no
one could hear what he was telling her but they could make it ‘special gift’ ‘bath tub’
‘quest’) and that is when he swam over to the duo and asked if they all could go on a
quest. He did not tell them what the quest was about, he just told them it was special.

So they all used some magic from the bedbox to go on a quest, they followed a trail all
the way from their home to the Milford mall before following another trail and entering a
temple with a fish goddess state which came to life.

The fish goddess statue gave them a series of puzzles to solve, which they all solved
together with the power of teamwork, they all stopped for lunch before heading down
another trail - which took them to Takapuna, to the direction of the whale tale
sculptures.

Piff bravely fought off some anthropomorphic dragon-fish warriors and a gang of
anthropomorphic stonefish thugs before retrieving the next set of clues, they were all
amazed about how good he was at fighting, he leaped in the air before picking up some
shells and giving them to his friends.

‘What are these seashells for?’ ‘They are to help us find the next set of clues.’ ‘You have
not told us what this is for yet.’ ‘Yes, what is this quest about?’ ‘That will ruin the
surprise.’ Piff responded, as they all followed another trail before having snacks and
afternoon tea.

When they followed the next trail it took them all the way through a coral reef tunnel of
sorts where they all took on aquatic forms and Piff bravely survived a deep sea swim
challenge, before retrieving the next set of clues, which Oats could decipher were fancy
soaps, a cd of romantic aquatic songs and bath bombs.

The next clues were at the very end of the tunnel, in the form of a line of soy sauce
bottles which Piff gave to his friends, they travelled up and down a mountain and even
flew through the sky, collecting more and more clues until they all arrived in Glenfield.

‘Is the thing we are looking for in the mall?’ ‘Or in the library?’ ‘Close but you will have to
see and find out.’ Piff guided his friends around Glenfield until they all arrived at Hillside
Road. he came across where the reveal of the surprise was. ‘Here it is guys.’

They all looked and saw a store called ‘Golden Lotus Bathrooms’ and Piff smiled as
they entered a store, they felt very confused as they looked around - but when they got
real close to what the surprise was, Piff smiled and exclaimed. ‘Tada! So what do you
guys think?’

Piff smiled as he pointed to a shiny golden bath-tub…’A bathtub? You brought us all
here on a quest, for a bathtub?’ ‘Oh Piff.’ ‘What? I was looking for a bathtub that would
be perfect for a bath with Tangie.’ ‘So that’s what the soap and bath bomb clues were
about?’
‘Oh yes.’ ‘Oh Piff, I cannot believe you made us go on a quest for a bath tub.’ Piff
giggled before he went up and bought the golden bath tub and took it with him.

They all raced home back at Nile Road and Piff awarded Tangie with the gift that he had
gotten her, and Tangie giggled as she smiled at him. ‘Yes, that is exactly what I sent you
on a quest to find.’ ‘Did I do good, Tangie?’ ‘Oh yes, you did, my sweet sashimi with two
spring rolls.’

Anglo the anglerfish turned bright red as he laughed at Tangie’s term of endearment.
‘You guys always get me every time with your food themed terms of endearment, you
are so funny!’, they all sat together at the table and played around.

They had dinner a couple of hours later and after dinner they played around, Mel
emailed Jill about their adventure as Piff and Tangie went fishing. Piff made a cartoon
about his search for the golden tub that got a lot of views on Tiktok, Instagram and
Yutube.

Which was followed by a story that Tangie wrote that got really popular on Scribd as
everyone downloaded it and read it and heard of how talented Tangie was and after that
they all had a lovely time with a karaoke session.

An hour later after their karaoke session had come to an end and they all got ready for
bed, Corey put on his bat pajamas as Oats put on his pink night-gown as they all
brushed their teeth in the bathroom, they got into the bedroom and got ready.

They picked friends to snuggle up with and jumped on the bed, they all thanked Mel and
Piff for their adventure and cuddled up together as they said good night to each-other,
Anglo turned off the light and they all drifted off to sleep.

When they drifted off to sleep, they all had sweet dreams as they did so - and Piff even
dreamed of having a romantic date with Tangie in numerous aquariums and he even
dreamed of being a successful fish comedian who was married to Tangie and that the
two of them had children that part angelfish and part pufferfish, he smiled as he had
those dreams.

And thus their adventure is over but more are coming up so stay tuned.
