Material Quantity

The document outlines the steps to calculate material quantities for C-25 concrete and plastering, including mix ratios, material densities, and adjustments for dry volume. For C-25 concrete, it provides specific quantities for cement, sand, aggregate, and water based on a 1:2:3 mix ratio. Additionally, it details the calculation for cement plastering, including the required amounts of cement, sand, and water for a 1m² area with a 12mm thickness using a 1:4 mix ratio.

Material Quantity

Concrete

Step-1: Understand C-25 Concrete Mix ratio

Step 2: Define Material densities

Step 3: Calculate the total dry volume

Step-4: Determine Material Quantities Using the Mix ratio

For example for C-25 Concrete, we can calculate the quantity of cement, sand and aggregate as follows

Given Parameters:

 Mix ratio- 1:2:3

 Density of cement- 1440kg/m3
 Density of sand- 1600kg/m3
 Density of aggregate- 1450kg/m3
 Water density- 1000kg/m3
 Water- 0.5*cement weight

Dry Volume: Concrete shrinks due to voids, so we multiply by 1.54 to get the dry volume:

Dry Volume= 1*1.54=1.54m3

There for the quantity of cement, sand and aggregate will be:

i. Cement: 1/6*1.54*1= 0.385m3

ii. Sand: 2/6*1.54*1= 0.513
iii. Aggregate: 3/6*1*1.54= 0.77

Density: Mass/Volume

Cement (consider wastage and water-cement ratio)

0.385*1440=555kg divide by the kg of 1 bag which is 50kg to get the total bag.

Sand

0.513m3*1600kg/m3= 820kg

Aggregate

0.77m3*1450=1117kg

Water

w/c=0.5
w=555*0.5= 278kg=278 liters
Plastering

1. Step 1: Calculate the Volume of Plaster

2. Plaster Volume=Area×Thickness\text{Plaster Volume} = \text{Area} \times \
text{Thickness}Plaster Volume=Area×Thickness =1×0.012=0.012 m3= 1 \times 0.012 =
0.012 \text{ m}^3=1×0.012=0.012 m3
3. To account for wastage and voids, we increase the volume by 25%:
4. Total Dry Volume=0.012×1.25=0.015 m3\text{Total Dry Volume} = 0.012 \times 1.25 =
0.015 \text{ m}^3Total Dry Volume=0.012×1.25=0.015 m3
5.

6. Step 2: Calculate Cement and Sand Quantities

7. Mix Ratio = 1:4 (Cement: Sand)
Total mix proportion = 1 + 4 = 5
8. Cement Quantity
9. Cement Volume=15×0.015=0.003 m3\text{Cement Volume} = \frac{1}{5} \times 0.015
= 0.003 \text{ m}^3Cement Volume=51×0.015=0.003 m3
Cement Weight=0.003×1440=4.32 kg\text{Cement Weight} = 0.003 \times 1440 = 4.32 \
text{ kg}Cement Weight=0.003×1440=4.32 kg
Cement Bags=4.3250=0.086 bags(≈1bagper11.6m2)\text{Cement Bags} = \frac{4.32}
{50} = 0.086 \text{ bags} (\approx 1 bag per 11.6 m²)Cement Bags=504.32
=0.086 bags(≈1bagper11.6m2)
10. Sand Quantity
11. Sand Volume=45×0.015=0.012 m3\text{Sand Volume} = \frac{4}{5} \times 0.015 =
0.012 \text{ m}^3Sand Volume=54×0.015=0.012 m3 Sand Weight=0.012×1600=19.2 kg\
text{Sand Weight} = 0.012 \times 1600 = 19.2 \
text{ kg}Sand Weight=0.012×1600=19.2 kg
12. Water Quantity
13. Assuming a water-cement ratio of 0.5:
14. Water=4.32×0.5=2.16 liters\text{Water} = 4.32 \times 0.5 = 2.16 \
text{ liters}Water=4.32×0.5=2.16 liters
15.

16.Final Answer: Material for 1m² of Cement Plastering (12mm Thick, 1:4
Mix)

Material Quantity
Cement 4.32 kg (≈ 0.086 bags)
Sand 19.2 kg (≈ 0.012 m³)
Water 2.16 liters
