 Rashi or Sign
What is a Rashi?

• An imaginary belt streching about 9 degrees north

and 9 degrees south of the Ecliptic within which the
planets and the Moon remain in course of their
movement.

• It is divided into 12 equal parts called “Rashi or

Sign”.

• Each Rashi sign has span of 30°. Each rashi has its
own characteristics attributed to it by Maharshis.

• There are 27 Nakshatra that forms part of 360°

zodiac

• The word Lagna means “to
connect” or “Join”.
• The karmic patter of life is indicated -
Ascendant
from the position of a Lagna in a Disandant

horoscope.
