Introduction
This module is written in support of the K-12 Basic Education Program to
ensure attainment of standards expected of you as a learner.

This aims to equip you with essential knowledge on the use of the advanced
features of a slide presentation tool to create a multimedia presentation.

This includes the following activities/tasks:

 Expected Learning Outcome- At the end of this module, you will be able
to use advanced features of a slide presentation tool to create a
multimedia presentation

 Pre-test - determines your prior learning about the advanced features of


a slide presentation tool

 Discussion of the Lesson- gives the important knowledge in Using

What Is It

Multimedia uses different types of media to show content such as


pictures, sounds, texts, etc. It makes tasks of conveying information easier and more
fun. It is used in various businesses and fields such as in publishing, education,
entertainment, health and many more.

Microsoft PowerPoint or simply PowerPoint is a presentation program that


allows you to create visuals or slides in delivering your message easily and more
entertaining. It is a product of the multimedia technology in which the learning
experience is enhanced or improved.
To make your presentation more engaging, PowerPoint has an advanced
feature for adding text, text animation, audios, videos and hyperlinks.

Adding Text and Text Animation


Animation is a sequence of effects. These give the illusion of continuous
motion in a presentation.
Step 1: Open a multimedia slide presentation. Type a title and subtitle in a
textbox. Choose the appropriate slide design

Step 2: Add animation to the text by clicking the tab from the

Menu. Click and choose the animation style

(Entrance, Emphasis and Exit)

Step 3: Customize the animation by clicking on

Set the trigger, effects options and timing.

Adding Graphics

Step 4: Add another slide to place the graphics. Click tab from Menu.
Images or graphics that can be inserted
may be taken from your saved pictures,
clip-art, a screenshot or a photo album.

Step 5: Click on to insert a photo file. Choose the file that you want

to insert on the slide.

Step 6:Try adding a clip-art to the slide. Search and choose from a list of

graphic clip-art.

Step 7: Move the clip-art within the slide.

Step 8: Aside from pictures and clip-arts, you can also copy a screen image of

another opened file or a webpage by clicking on the icon.

Step 9: Choose the open screen that you want to capture.

The result should look like the slide below:

Step 10: Add animation to the image by doing steps 2 and 3.


Adding Hyperlink
A hyperlink is an electronic link that allows a computer user to move
directly from a marked place in a document to another or within the document.

Step 11: To add a link, use the tab found in the menu.

Explore on the different ways the hyperlink function can be done by

clicking on

Step 12: To link an image or text to another slide in the document, click on the
said image/text. Then insert hyperlink. Choose the highlighted icon.
Then click on the slide that you want to hyperlink to the image/text.

Embedding Audio and/or Video
Storing the files in the presentation itself is called embedding.
Step 13: Embedding an audio or video file will help enhance your
presentation. To do that, simply choose from the Media tab.

Step 14. Choose a video from your computer file and it will
automatically be added to your slide. To view the video, play
the “Slideshow”.

What I have Learned

 Multimedia uses various media to show content in an engaging way.


 Multimedia presentation software uses pictures, sounds, text, videos,
animations and other graphics for faster and easier grasping of ideas and
concept
 It is always better to create your own presentations. Do not copy other
people’s work because it is considered plagiarism. If you need to borrow
other people’s ideas, you have to cite them or mention them as the source.
Creating your own graphics helps establish your brand.
