1. INTRODUCTION/ BACKGROUND
The primary objective is to develop an interactive and user-friendly map of the mall, integrated with
the mall’s website and interactive mall screens, that allows visitors to easily navigate to various stores,
facilities, and points of interest within the mall. The map should enhance user experience by offering
real-time navigation, directional assistance, and store information. This map will serve as a critical tool
for customers and help improve overall mall accessibility and engagement.

2. OBJECTIVES
The system (Navigation Map) enhances the customer’s experience by improving their journey, making
it easier to find parking spots and track their progress.

 Enhanced Customer Experience

 Improve the Customer’s Journey
 Easy to find parking spots and tracking

3. SCOPE OF WORK
SOW includes interactive map design, website integration, search and filter functions, navigation and
routing features, customization options, and a focus on user experience (UX).

 Interactive Map Design and Development:

o The supplier will design and develop a fully interactive map that provides a comprehensive
layout of the mall, including all stores, dining areas, entertainment venues, restrooms,
parking and other key facilities.
o The map must feature real-time navigation capabilities, guiding users through the mall
from one point to another.
o The application must be able to be viewed in 2D/3D
 Simple Website & in-mall Directories Integration:
o The interactive map must be seamlessly integrated into the mall’s existing website,
ensuring smooth functionality across various devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile).
o Mall’s website for reference (where the map should be integrated into):
www.citycenterdoha.com
o The map should be easily accessible from the website’s main menu and provide a user-
friendly interface for visitors to explore.
o The map should be integrated with digital directory screens around the mall (x6 55inch
screens)
o Where necessary, the service should be able to be integrated with applications as an SDK
(Future integration with a mobile app)
 Search and Filter Functions:

3|Page
o The map should include a search function, allowing users to easily locate specific stores or
facilities by name or category.
o A filter function should be provided to allow users to filter by store type (e.g., dining,
fashion, electronics) and find nearby amenities (e.g., restrooms, parking).
o Users should be able to access detailed information about the existing areas on the map
o
 Navigation and Routing Features:
o The map must offer step-by-step navigation from the user’s current location (or an entry
point) to their desired destination within the mall.
o Route options should be available, with clear directions provided in real time.
o The fields listed for the location that the user is searching for should be sorted from closest
to farthest from the user's current location
o With the free/explore mode, users should be able to have information about the areas
around them without taking any route and should be able to get directions if they want to
go to the relevant location
o Direction information should also be presented to the user in the route and location
information. Example: Position A is on your left, Turn left now, and so on. In addition to the
cardinal directions, clockwise should also be added
o For the created route, the user should be provided with summary information at the
beginning of the route. Example: Your target is 2 floors down, about y meters ahead
o The location information related to the route, the direction or the information about what
is in the direction in which the phone is held should be listened to at the request of the
person
o It should be specified in the next step in the directions made regarding the route. Example:
Turn in direction 3 after 20 m turn in direction 2
o The application should be able to instantly detect the user's location data in real time
o The application will draw a route from the user's location to the desired destination, and
while the user is moving along this route, the location should be determined instantly on
the route and directed in writing
o The application should give a warning when it detects that the user has left the route, and
the route should be re-created from the last location by shaking the phone when desired
o Average positioning accuracy should be below 5m
o
 Customization Options:
o The supplier will enable future updates to the map, allowing for easy addition or removal
of stores and facilities as needed.
o The design should allow for customization for seasonal promotions or special events (e.g.,
holiday markets, sales).
 User Experience (UX) Focus:
o Ensure the map is intuitive and accessible, catering to users with different levels of digital
literacy.
o Include clear visual elements and smooth interaction (e.g., zoom, pan, and click
functionalities).

4. Functional & Technical Features
The system utilizes beacon technology, web compatibility, scalability, lightweight, real-time navigation,
CMS integration, and search and filtering capabilities.

1. Beacons technology: installing beacons around the mall and parking areas to catch the customer’s
location (estimate beacons
o Quantity: 550-600 iBeacon Sensors
o Real-time geolocation should run on the 2.4 GHz BLE Beacon infrastructure to be
positioned
o Battery life should be at least 4 years with a signal frequency of 450 ms
o Batteries must be replaceable
o The RSSI range should be between +4dBm and -4dBm
2. Web Compatibility:
o The map must be fully responsive, compatible with all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox,
Safari, Edge), and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.
o Ensure the navigation features are equally effective across all platforms.
o The service must support English and Arabic
3. Scalable and Lightweight:
o The map should be designed to handle high traffic without causing delays or slowing down
the website’s performance. It must be lightweight and optimized for quick loading times.
o Use scalable vector graphics (SVG) or similar technologies to maintain visual quality across
different screen sizes.
4. Real-Time Navigation System:
o The map must incorporate a real-time positioning system, using either Wi-Fi
triangulation, Bluetooth beacons, or another suitable technology for indoor navigation.
o Suppliers must specify the navigation technology (the Bluetooth beacons) used and
provide details on how it will accurately track user movements inside the mall.
o POIs (Point of Interest) will be defined for the points that the user can go to and these POIs
can be selected as destination points through the application
o In the shopping mall, users should be able to search for the place they want to go by seeing
their location (in text) through the system and select a location from the list as a result of
the search. The application should automatically route the user from the user's location to
the selected point through the list of locations
5. CMS Integration:
o The map must integrate with a content management system (CMS) to allow the mall’s
team to easily update store information, add new locations, or modify existing layouts.
o Detailed training and documentation must be provided to the mall team for managing
updates.
o To ensure the mapping solutions can work with our existing technology (CMS website and
future app – React Native or Flutter). The provider should also have the flexibility to offer
add-ons to our system in the future.
6. Search and Filtering Capabilities:
o The search and filter features must be intuitive and quick, allowing users to find their
destinations easily without delay.
o Ensure the search feature can handle variations in spelling and provide relevant
suggestions.
o
7. Marketing:
o The system should allow the user (Mall) to integrate marketing campaigns/offers/banners
or any other solution within the developed and integrated map
