Customs Clearance, Shipment, and Payment.

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA)


CPA manages the Chittagong port, which is the largest and busiest seaport in
Bangladesh. It plays a critical role in export-import activities, handling over 90% of the
country’s trade.
What actually CPA do :

According to The Financial Express, The Chittagong port got off to a flying start in
January by handling 13.28 per cent higher containers year on year, driven by a
significant rise in the country’s export and import trade.

According to port officials, the country’s prime seaport handled a total of 263,614
twenty foot equivalent units TEUs of containers this January up from 232,709 TEUs in
the same month of the previous year.
Data shows the port handled 75,234 TEUs of export goods laden containers, 53,149
TEUs of empty outbound containers, 124,039 TEUs of import goods laden containers,
and 11,192 TEUs of empty inbound containers last month.

Mongla Port Authority (MPA)


MPA the second largest port in Bangladesh, plays a significant role in handling
international trade, Particularly for southwestern region of the country. Its strategic
location and modern facilities make it and attractive option for shippers.
MPA Provides facilities and services to international shipping lines and other
concerned agencies, including jetties, warehouses, cargo handling equipment, and
maintenance of adequate water depth in the channel to ensure safe day and night
navigation.
Mongla port has 11 jetties and 8 warehouses, utilizing 12 swinging moorings in deeper
sections of the river.

In the first seven months of the 2024-2025 financial year, a total of 496 ships docked
at Mongla Port, said the port’s Public Relation Deputy Director Md Makruzzaman.

During this period, 65,62,300 tons of goods were imported and exported.

This included the loading and unloading of 12,083 used containers from 23 container
ships, as well as the unloading of 6,751 reconditioned vehicles from 12 vehicle ships.
Several measures have been taken to increase the number of ships arriving at Mongla
Port during the current fiscal year, according to port sources.
