Calendar Surrender
Introduction
Calendar Surrender is a science-backed strategy for optimizing our schedules for flow. It's about
front-loading your decisions so that in the moment, you don't have to think - you can simply
execute. By scheduling everything in advance—from daily tasks to strategic breaks—you
eliminate the need for moment-to-moment decisions.

The Core Concept

With Calendar Surrender, you'll:

Block time for your most important work, ensuring that Flow Blockers never stand a chance.
Schedule habits and routines that boost your Flow Proneness, making the state of flow your
default mode.
Engineer your days to include Flow Triggers, those preconditions that usher you into flow.
Respect the Flow Cycle, building in time for rest and recovery, so you can approach each new
challenge refreshed and ready.

Section 1 - The Seven Key Calendar Categories for Flow

First, we will create seven new types of calendars. These categories will help you visualize how
you're spending your time.

Goal-Directed Actions (green): High priority tasks directly contributing to your goals.
High-Leverage Actions (blue): Building skills or leveraging people and processes for more
output value.
Other Work (gray): Necessary but not directly goal-related tasks like administrative duties.
Active Recovery (purple): Activities that clear allostatic load, activate the parasympathetic
nervous system, and replenish neurochemistry.
Sleep (dark blue): Essential for performance and recovery.
Social (yellow): Social interactions and family time.
Time Evaporation (red): Low-value activities that don't serve your goals.

Section 2 - Identify Every Recurring Event in Your Life

Next, we must identify every recurring routine in your life. We want to get everything out of your
brain and down on paper so we can optimize it.

Section 3 - Schedule All Recurring Events Into Your Calendar

We will now get all of these recurring events added to your calendar. This can help you spot gaps
and better optimize your life for peak-performance.

Instructions
1. Create the event in your calendar
2. Set the event to the proper calendar

Section 4 - Achieve Whole Brain Productivity with Decision Autopilot

Lastly, we will break down routines into sequential micro-decisions and add them to the calendar
event's description section. This reduces cognitive load and allows for more creative and
productive rumination. We call this decision autopilot.

Morning Routine Example

Decision Autopilot Practice

Pick one routine and write down a decision autopilot for that routine.

Morning routine:
Clothes
Pee
Vielight (M, W, F)
Coffee
Methylene blue
Spermidine
AM supps
Nootropics spray and drink
Oura Ring
(Bathroom)
NanoVi

Instructions

Work Compression
Introduction
Work Compression is a strategy designed to enhance productivity by reducing the number of
hours you work, setting a clear start and finish line, and never working outside those lines. This
habit helps prioritize tasks, improves focus, and promotes recovery, leading to more efficient and
effective work.

The Core Concept

Work Compression involves:

Building a work container with a start and finish line.

Always stopping work once you reach the finish line.
Prioritizing tasks and focusing on what truly matters.

Section 1 - Creating A Work Start & Finish Line

We will now set your work start and end times, compressing your work by at least 25%. Get ready
to work less.

Instructions
When creating your start and end time. Ensure you are working at least 25% less than you are now.

1. Create a work start line event in your calendar

2. Create a work finish line event in your calendar
3. Rearrange recurring events to fit in your new schedule
4. Set a daily alarm for your new work finishline
