We are sure you all must have started planning for vacations. We wish that our
children enjoy every minute of this summer break. For the next monthyou will spend
maximum time with your children. So, make the most of it. We are sharing some tips
to make this period fruitful and happy for them.

 Have at least two meals with your children. Teach them the
importance of hard work of the farmers and ask them not to
waste their food.
 Let them wash their own plates after every meal. Children
learn dignity of labour from such activities.
 Allow them to help you in cooking. Let them prepare
their own fruit salad.
 Help your ward learn five new words in English every
day.
 Visit your parents and let the children bond with their grandparents.
 Encourage your child to raise a kitchen garden and take
care of plants.
 Share stories about your childhood and your family
history.
 Read a moral story to them.
This will surely make the children happy and their vacations will become memorable.

Warm greetings!

It has been a thrilling start to our academic session 2024-25. The students have been full of enthusiasm to
explore the world of learning and have worked really hard to do their best. It’s time to take a break, sit back and
enjoy a few weeks of the glorious Indian Summer! But even during their holidays, we wish to keep motivating
the student’s learning and encourage their curiosity by giving them creative tasks. Keeping this in view, some
activities and holiday homework have been planned in such a way that the students are not only kept engaged
but also enjoy their holidays.

‘Reading is to mind what exercise is to the body.’

Reading is essential and serves as a building block for learning. It not only gives us pleasure but also

helps us gain knowledge. Reading transports us to different worlds and allows us to explore new

ideas. It is always fun to read books.

So, let us read books and enter the world of magic.

I. Read the first five stories from ‘Best Tales of

Panchatantra’.(To be assessed as good reader bonus
after summer break). Draw a sketch of your favourite
character from the stories and write about it in five
sentences.

II. Read the following story and complete it using the words given in the help box.

Summer Vacation is probably the best time of the year

for you all; it’s time for loads of fun. School is fun too,
with learning happening at all times, summer vacation can
also be a time for learning with lots of activities around.

Here are a few tasks for you to complete during

the vacation. Do remember to complete the given
activities after reading them carefully.

Activity 1: Flavorful shapes (R.no. 1-20)

Mathematics and cooking intertwine as recipes become a

symphony of precise measurements and calculations.
From measuring ingredients to adjusting cooking times,
math plays a flavorful role in the culinary experience.

Material Required : A4 size colored sheet.

Prepare a dish(flameless cooking) using mathematical

shapes. Give a catchy name to your dish. Click your picture
along with the dish.

Heroes of deserts and HigHlands: nourisHing people and culture

The United Nations has declared 2024 as the International Year of

Camelids to spotlight the diverse contributions of camelids, such
as alpacas, bactrian camels, guanacos and llamas in the lives of
people across the world. Camelids are a source of milk, fibre and
means of transportation. They also provide organic fertiliser
which can be used in agriculture. Moreover, Camelids are known
to survive in harsh conditions.

Activity: 1. Make a wall hanging of a camel using ecofriendly materials like
cardboard, recycled paper, paper mache, nut shells, rope etc.
2. You may also use sketch pens, crayons and decorative materials like beads,
bindis, mirrors etc. to make it more colourful and attractive.
3. Make a logo of international year of camelids 2024 on the wall hanging to
spread an awareness on the contribution of camels in our lives.
4. On the lower side of wall hanging write different adaptations of camels that help it to
survive in desert.

supports the body’s metabolic process and ensures that we remain healthy.

So, keeping the delicacies of Haryana and Manipur in mind lets’ make a vivid
collage by pasting pictures illustrating the variety of delicacies of both the
states on an A3 size sheet.

Also, write which is your favourite dish and paste its picture at the back side
of sheet. Laminate the sheet to use it as a mat while eating food during lunch
time in school.

Dear Students

It’s never been a better time to be a writer or aspire to become one.

Writing is an art, which needs to be developed through deliberate
practice and study over a long period of time.

During this summer break let’s practice the skill of writing poetry,
articles, paragraphs and riddles in any language that you are learning,
English or Hindi. You can illustrate your written pieces to make them
more attractive. Show your creativity through your stand alone drawings
and sketches as well.

Submit your creative work to your class teachers after summer break.
To complete this task use A4 sheets. Your expressions will get
recognition in the school’s newsletter also it would be displayed on the
school display board.
