Duties and Responsibilities of
Head Teacher In-Charge
1. Assist in the
evaluation, selection,
distribution and inventory
of
textbooks, materials,
supplies and equipment.
They should be able
to assist teachers in the
implementation of
administrative directives.

CLASSROOM TEACHER

Reports to: Grade Level Coordinator/School Principal

Teacher: Teachers’ professional responsibilities involve considerably more than merely


classroom instruction. They include, but are not limited to, study and research to keep
abreast of new knowledge and instructional techniques; assessment of students’ work;
record-keeping; lesson planning and preparation; conferences with students, parents and
administrators; in-service meetings; and supervision of pupils outside the classroom.
Teachers must be in their classrooms or assigned areas as instructed by the principal. All
duty time is necessary for educational planning, preparation, and conferences with
students, parents and faculty members. All teachers must maintain a standard of dress,
personal appearance, general decorum, moral standards and behavior that reflects their
professional status in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teachers will be responsible to the principal for carrying out policies of the school
as they relate to the function of the school, to the classroom, and to the immediate
contact with students and parents. Teachers will be expected to furnish such after school
time as is needed for assisting students, conferring with parents and doing other
necessary out of school work.

A. Direct Curricular and Extracurricular Learning Experiences

 Develop engaging lessons, projects, experiments, simulations, debates,


performances, field trips, guest speakers, club activities, and student-led
initiatives that align with curriculum standards.

B. Care for and Protect School Property

 Promote responsible behavior in the classroom, conduct routine equipment


checks, turn off lights and electronics when not in use, report damaged
property to maintenance, involve students in classroom cleaning routines.

 Set clear classroom expectations about handling materials, encourage


students to report broken equipment, ensure proper storage of supplies to
prevent damage, create a classroom job chart for cleaning tasks.
C. Supervise Students on School Grounds

 Monitor hallways, multipurpose halls (4th floor), and common areas during breaks
and transitions, ensure student safety during field trips, establish clear
expectations for behavior in non-classroom settings, intervene promptly in case of
conflicts.

D. Participate in Planning and Evaluation of School Programs

 Attend curriculum planning meetings, collaborate with colleagues to develop new


programs, participate in school-wide needs assessments, analyze student data to
evaluate program effectiveness, provide feedback on proposed curriculum changes.

E. Participate in Faculty Activities

 Attend faculty meetings, participate in professional learning communities (PLCs),


collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning and instructional strategies,
participate in school-wide events and initiatives.

F. Participate in In-Service Training

 Attend workshops, conferences, and online courses related to your subject area or
teaching methodology, participate in school-based professional development
sessions, actively engage in discussions and learning activities during training
sessions.

G. Support Auxiliary School Activity

 Volunteer to coach a sports team, supervise a student club, chaperone a school


dance or field trip, participate in fundraising activities for school programs.

H. Carry Out School Policies and Administrative Regulations

 Review and adhere to school board policies and administrative regulations related
to teaching practices, student safety, grading procedures, communication with
parents, and classroom management.

 Implement the school's anti-bullying policy in your classroom, follow the


established procedures for reporting student absences, communicate student grades
to parents according to school guidelines and ensure that school rules and regulations
are followed by students

I. Be Punctual
 Arrive at school on time for your scheduled classes and meetings, manage your
time effectively to avoid tardiness, ensure a smooth transition between activities
to minimize disruption.
A. Instruction and Curriculum

 Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and effective
lesson plans aligned with standards and the school curriculum.

 Instructional Methods: Utilize a variety of instructional methods to cater to


diverse learning styles and ensure student mastery of learning objectives.

 Assessment and Evaluation: Create and administer assessments to monitor


student progress, identify areas of need, and adjust instruction accordingly.

 Differentiation: Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of


all students, including those with learning disabilities or gifted abilities.

 Integration of Technology: Integrate technology effectively into lessons to


enhance student learning and engagement.

B. Student Management and Classroom Environment

 Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and organized


classroom environment conducive to learning. This includes setting clear
expectations, enforcing rules, and fostering a culture of respect.
 Student Engagement: Create a stimulating and engaging classroom
environment that promotes active participation and critical thinking.
 Positive Reinforcement: Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage
desired behavior and academic achievement.
 Student Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with
students, fostering a safe space for them to ask questions and seek help.
 III. Collaboration and Communication
 Collaboration with Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues to develop
curriculum, share best practices, and support student learning across grade levels
or subject areas.
 Communication with Parents/Guardians: Maintain regular communication with
parents/guardians regarding student progress, assignments, and school events.
This can be through email, phone calls, conferences, or online platforms.
 Communication with Administration: Communicate effectively with school
administration regarding student needs, curriculum implementation, and any
professional development needs.
 IV. Professional Development and Growth
 Professional Learning: Actively participate in professional development
opportunities to stay current on best practices in education and relevant subject
matter.
 Data Analysis and Reflection: Analyze student data to identify areas for
improvement and reflect on teaching practices to continuously enhance
effectiveness.
 V. Additional Responsibilities
 Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades,
attendance, and other relevant information.
 Supervision: Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess or
lunch duty.
 Proctoring Exams: Proctor standardized tests or school-wide assessments.
 Committee Participation: Participate in school committees or activities as
assigned.
 Classroom Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain a clean and organized
classroom environment that promotes learning.
