Downloading+SimaPro+Client+Software (1)
When you open the simapro reg info.txt link you’ll be opening a text file that possesses two text codes.
Keep this file open. You’ll need both to run the executable file that will download the SimaPro client
software app to your personal computer or laptop.
3. Now go to and click on the link SimaPro executable file download for client software. This will open
up the executable file you will need to run to download the SimaPro client software application to
your personal pc or laptop. After clicking on the link the following image should show up.
4. Click on download. You’ll get the following screen. This is a warning given about unsecured
downloads but since you know this file comes from me it is ok.
5. Click on Download anyway.
6. This will start the process of downloading an executable file SetupSimaPro950.exe. Once it has been
downloaded to your personal computer or laptop go ahead and click on it to open and run it. Open
it up and click on Yes to allow it to configure your computer. You’ll get a pop-up window asking you
if you want to install the application. Click on Yes.
Note: in the window below, taken from my computer, it states the SimaPro installation appears to be
already there. That is because I already installed it but I’m running it again to create this help file.
Ignore that.
7. After clicking yest the following pop-up window will surface. This is the Setup wizard. Click on
Next.
8. Click on the box “I accept the agreement” and then click on “Next” button.
9. You will now need to enter the Registration name and Registration code. These are in the text file
you opened previously. After entering the codes click on Next.
10. You will then see a pop-up window that asks you to accept the End User License Agreement. Click
on “I accept the agreement.
A window will show up to allow you to select languages. Pick the language of your choice. Next a
window will show up that ask you the units you want SimaPro to be able to use. Select “All”. Click Next.
After this another window will show up asking to Select Destination Location. The default will be C:\
Program Files (x86)\SimaPro Multi User. Just accept the default and clink on Next. You will then be
asked to Select Start Menue Folder. Accept the default SimaPro Multi-user. Click Next. You will be
asked to Select Additional Tasks. Make sure the box Create a Desktop icon has a checkmark. Click
Next. You will now have a wind that says Ready to Install. Click on Install. The program will begin
downloading the client software application. Wait while the client software app is installed.
If a window comes up that ask you to change to the recommended font size say Yes. This question often
comes up when opening SimaPro on laptops with smaller screens.
13. You will now get the following window. SOMETIMES it might come up completely blank. If that is
the case (for you) you will need to click on Servers and then enter a NEW SERVER. When you do,
type in the server name [email protected]. Then click on “close” after you have registered
the server. You will now see the following window with a number of database names. From time to
time the names listed under “Database name” will vary from the window below. I’m not sure how
all the odd database names like “f” get added in but you want to highlight the database called
Professional. Now click on Open.
Make sure you click on Professional to open and you’ll be sent to a window with your initials (i.e.,
name). click on it, enter your password and you’ll enter SimaPro.
Note: You need to have selected the server [email protected]. The Location should be set at
Default and the Database highlighted Professional. If the server [email protected] is not
present, then you need to add it by clicking on the Servers icon and adding it. Finally, click Open.
14. You will have to wait a while for the database to open. This can take more or less time depending
upon the speed of your internet connection. It will work faster with a LAN connect as opposed to
wireless.
15. You will be brought to a window that lists the name of users. Find your name (last name). Select
your name and then enter your password. Your password is exactly your name as written in the
window PLUS the last two numbers of your UH ID. So, if the UH ID of the student Briones was
1234567 then his/her password would be Briones67.
