me invaluable insights and practical experience in the field of architecture.

from initial design concepts to final presentations. This hands-on experience has significantly
enriched we understanding of architectural practices and has been instrumental in
professional development.

History and Size
WKU Project office, established in November 2001 E.C., is located in the Guraghe Zone, 170
km southwest of Addis Ababa at Wolkite University. The university began its operations in
2004 E.C. and spans an area of 246 hectares1. It has grown to include multiple campuses:
Gubreye Campus (Main Campus), Wolkite Campus, and Butajira Campus1.

of the Wolkite University Specialized Teaching Hospital1. This hospital is a major initiative

Through our internship at WKU Project office, we gained invaluable hands-on experience in
the practical application of architectural principles. The opportunity to work on different
projects allowed our to develop my skills e.g., CAD software, construction detailing, site
analysis, LUMION. We also learned the importance of effective communication, collaboration,
and problem-solving in a professional setting. This internship has not only solidified our
passion for architecture but also equipped us with the practical knowledge and skills we
need to excel in our future studies and career. We are immensely grateful to supervisors or
mentors for their guidance and mentorship during our time here. This experience has been
instrumental in my professional development and we look forward to continuing to learn and
grow as an architect.
