GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
i) This question paper has 5 sections A,B,C,D and E
ii) Section A has 20 MCQ carrying 1 mark each
iii) Section B has 5 questions carrying 2 marks each
iv) Section C has 6 questions carrying 3 marks each
v) Section d has 4 questions carrying 5 marks each
vi) Section E has 3 case base integrated units of assessment (4 marks ) with sub
parts of the values 1,1 and 2 marks each respectively.
vii) All questions are compulsory . However , an internal choice in 2 questions of 5
marks , 2 questions of 3 marks and 2 questions of 2 marks has been provided .
An internal choice has been provided in the 2 marks questions of section E.
viii) Take π = 22/7 wherever required if not stated.

31). Three circles, each of radius 3.5 cm, are drawn in such a way that each of
them touches the other two. Find the area enclosed between these circles.
32) a) In a ΔPQR, N is a point on PR such that QN ⊥ PR. If PN × NR = QN², prove
that ∠PQR = 90°.

(b) In the figure if AB || DC and AC and PQ intersect each other at the point Q
prove that OA X CQ = OC X AP .

33). A solid toy is in the form of a right circular cylinder with a hemispherical
shape at one end and a cone at the other end . their common diameter is 4.2
cm and the height of the cylindrical and conical portions are 12 cm and 7 cm
respectively. Find the volume of the solid toy.
34) a) A pole of height 5 m is fixed on the top of a tower. The angle of elevation
of the top of the pole, as observed from a point A on the ground, is 60°, and
the angle of depression of the point A from the top of the tower is 45°. Find
the height of the tower. (Use √3 = 1.732)

(b) A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing on the top
of a 75 m high tower observes two cars at angles of depression of 30° and 60°,
which are approaching the foot of the tower. Find the distance between the
two cars. (Use √3 = 1.732)

35) . The sum of the first and eighth terms of an arithmetic progression is 32,
and their product is 60. Find the first term and common difference of the AP.
Hence, also find the sum of its first 20 terms.
SECTION: C (each carries 4 marks)

36) Bingo is a game of chance where the host has 75 balls numbered from 1 to
75. Each player has a Bingo card with some numbers written on it . The
participant cancels the number on the card when called out a number written
on the ball selected at random. Whosoever cancels all the numbers on his/her
card says BINGO and wins.

The table given below shows the data of one such game where 48 balls were
used before tara said BINGO.

37) Radio towers are used for transmitting a range of communication services
including radio and television. The tower will either act as an antenna itself or
support one or more antennas on its structure. On a similar concept, a radio
station tower was built in two sections A and B . Tower is supported by wires
from a point O.
Distance between the base of the tower and point O is 36 m . from point O ,
the angle of elevation of the top of the section B is 30°. and the angle of
elevation of the top of section A is 45°.
Based on the above information, answer the following Questions:
a) Find the length of the wire from O to the top of Section B. (1)
b) Find the area of Δ OPB. (1)
c) Find the distance AB. (2)
OR
If the angle of the elevation of the top of the section B is 45° and the angle of
the elevation of the top of section A is 60° , then find the distance AB.
38) In a toys manufacturing company, wooden parts are assembled and
painted to prepare a toy. For the wood processing activity centre, the wood is
taken out of storage to be sawed, after which it undergoes rough polishing,
then is cut, drilled and has holes punched in it. It is then fine polished using
sandpaper. For the retail packaging and delivery activity centre, the polished
wood sub-parts are assembled together, then decorated using paint.

One specific toy is in the shape of a cone mounted on a cylinder. The total
height of the toy is 110 mm and the height of its conical part is 77 mm. The
diameters of the base of the conical part is 72 mm and that of the cylindrical
part is 40 mm.
(i)If its cylindrical part is to be painted red, what is the surface area
need to be painted ?
(ii) If its conical part is to be painted blue, what is the surface area
need to be painted ?
(iii) How much of the wood have been used in making the toy ?
OR

If the cost of painting the toy is 1 rupees for 8 π mm2 , then


what is the cost of painting of a box of 100 toys?
