AUDIOSCRIPT
Woman Thank you for phoning the Channel 6 phone
line. This phone call will cost fifty pence.
First you will hear a short advertisement for
the show and then you will be asked to
answer some questions.
Voice Are you a risk taker? When you see
something dangerous on TV or in a film, do
you say ‘I’d love to try that!’ or do you think
‘They’re crazy! I’d never do anything as risky
as that!’? Well if you fancy trying some very
risky activities, you’re the person we’re
looking for! We’re producing a new reality
TV show called ‘One Big Risk!’ and on it
contestants have to try new activities. They
might be frightening, they might be
dangerous, but the winner will win a lot of
money.
Woman Are you still interested? OK. Now we need
you to answer some questions. First, can
you say your name please after the tone.
Alan Alan Masters.
Woman Thank you. Now your age. Remember you
must be over eighteen.
Alan Nineteen.
Woman Thank you. Now a phone number.
Alan 04521 778356.
Woman Thank you. Now please answer the following
question. Why do you think you would be a
good person to have on the show?
Alan I would be good to have on the show
because I love doing exciting things. I like
competition and I’m not frightened of taking
risks.
Woman Thank you. If we asked you to climb down
inside a volcano, what would your answer
be?
Alan I’d do it, if I had the right equipment. I
wouldn’t go down there without special
clothes to protect against hot lava.
Woman Thank you. What would you say if we asked
you to dive 200 metres under the sea?
Alan I’d say no. That would be a crazy thing to do.
Nobody can survive at that depth. I love
risks, but I’m not stupid.
Woman Thank you. Thank you very much for your
interest. If our producers think you would be
a good contestant, we shall contact you with
further information. Please put the phone
