Basketball Lesson Plan

Duration: 45 minutes

Objective:
- To introduce and develop basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, and
shooting.

Lesson Outline

1. Warm-Up (10 minutes)


- Objective: To increase blood flow and prepare the body for physical activity.
- Activity:
- Cardio : Jogging, Sprints and shuttle run
- Dynamic stretches : Starting from head to toe.

Main Activity :

2. Stance Position (3 minutes) - Holding the ball in basic form.


-Basic stance and types of stances.

2. Skill Development - Dribbling (10 minutes)


- Objective: To develop control and movement while dribbling the basketball.
-Types of dribbles : Low level, High level and alternate.

3. Skill Development - Passing (7 minutes)


- Objective: To improve accurate passing and teamwork.
- Types of passes : Chest, Bounce and Overhead.

4. Skill Development - Shooting (10 minutes)


- Objective: To improve shooting accuracy and technique.
- Shooting position : foot position , squat stance, Elbow and palm alignment,
Releasing the ball.

6. Cool-Down (5 minutes)
- Objective: To gradually reduce heart rate and stretch muscles.
- Activity:
- Light dribbling while walking around the court for 2 minutes.
- Static stretching : Arm stretch, wrist rotation, shoulder rotation, lower
body stretches.
