This course will focus on the application of statistical techniques to analyze data in
order to make critical business decisions. Starting with an overview of how to use
and interpret descriptive statistics, learners will be challenged to think critically and
derive significance from a large volume of data and how this data can be used to
determine causes, forecast the future, and measure performance. Using these
tools, the learner may develop the information needed to increase productivity,
identify opportunities for improvements, and assist leadership in making sound
judgments.
Business Scenario
You have been hired as a consultant by TC Ice Cream. As part of its expansion plan, TC
Ice Cream wants to limit the number of flavors that they sell and only focus on those
which are the most profitable.
The TC Ice Cream management team has tasked you with doing an in-depth analysis to
determine which of the two options will be the most profitable. You will select a division
and two flavors to review to make your recommendation. You will be required to use
various business analysis techniques to formulate your recommendation. You will
complete two milestones and a project in which you will present your recommendation
to an audience of stakeholders.
Projects
The course goals are communicated through three competency statements.
Competencies represent the knowledge and skills relevant to your field. Learners will
complete one project with two milestones.
