Reflection January, 17, 2025 (Hebrews 4: 1-5, 11, Psalms 78: 3 and 4bc, 6c-7, 8,Gospel

Mark 2: 1-12)
In our Christian journey of life, we truly believe that to have faith in Jesus Christ, it will bring us
to life. Faith needs prove. So, what kind of proving that we are going to do. In the first reading it
shows the importance of entering God’s rest, which is found in faith and trust or believe in Jesus.
Again, that faith in Jesus must be center of our life means that there is no other priority than this.
As a blessing that each one of us receive the same grace of faith from God and how we respond
the grace is human freedom whether you want to nourish it and bear lot of fruits or become
indifference or don’t care attitude toward the grace given. Must be remember that there is also
warns for the danger of unbelief or don’t listen to God words “it says that in His wraths that they
will not enter in my rest”. But we believe God is mercy and compassion and there is no late for
us to ask forgiveness and compassion. To change our life and come back to God.
In the psalm tells us that the faith that we have received from God, we need to passing to the next
generations or share it to others. How to share it? Sometimes we are confusing but when we do it
with sincere heart and good intention God will the one who work for us and to cooperate with us.
God will never abandon us alone to do this mission. In this point, we need to be aware that we
are call to become an agent of faith or ambassador of love to others. Before become an agent or
an ambassador of faith and love we must first have strong and know well about our faith and
love. We need to practice or we need to actualize our faith and love in order for us to be worthy
to carry the mission. As in the letter of St. James said, faith without action means death or
useless. We have no foundation to share or to testify what we are believed to others. So, as a
religious in this era we are facing reality of faith crisis in humanity and secularism that
widespread, and the question for us what can we do for this. We are carrying big responsibility in
our life as a religious to testify our faith in Jesus to others. And of course, we cannot just tell
them convert you are in wrong way and et cetera, the things that we can do is to live our life
according to the Christian values; our actions, and our words in our daily life is mirroring our
testimony about our faith. God in his mysterious way will help us dealing with those challenges
or difficulties.
Still in linking with the letter to the Hebrews and Psalm, in the Gospel of Mark that we just heard
that the faith was being accomplished. The paralytic man was cure from his sickness and there is
action of unconditional love of Jesus toward this paralytic man. The story of paralytic man who
was being carried by the other people and they bring him to Jesus, we don’t know precisely is
this initiative from the paralytic man or this other people who brought him. But it doesn’t matter
the important thing that need to emphasize here is they have faith in Jesus who has heling power
and the Messiah that was being foretold by the prophet. Faith in Jesus bring us to the victory and
happiness. This paralytic man free from his sin and he begins his new journey of life. The role of
the other people who brought the paralytic man to Jesus as an example for us to be an agent of
faith and ambassador of love who will bring others also to Jesus through our testimony and
action of faith and love. Despite of many challenges and difficulties that we are facing nowadays,
just to be remembered that with sincere faith in Jesus Christ we will be easily figure out the
solution or way to reach Jesus, as what had happened with the group that brought the paralytic
man even though difficult for them to enter because of many people but finally they can enter
and reach Jesus through the roof top. Dear brothers, so This is how faith works and the thing that
we need to do is to nourish our faith. Amen.
