Foundation SnT
Science and Mathematics by:
(1) Strengthening the basic conceptual understanding.
(2) Offering adequate exposure to application and problem
solving. Providing holistic experience that helps the child
acquire various skills like Observation, Comprehension,
Data interpretation and Higher order thinking skills
(HOTs).
2. Expectations from Boards:
3
Qualities to become independent learners.
Adaptability to face challenges.
Good time management skills to stay stress free.
Disciplined approach to learning
Potential to put themselves in the output mode.
Awareness towards their goals/milestones and explore
ways to achieve them.
4
Benefits of Foundation SnT program
Strengthened basics in concepts of Science and
Mathematics.
Enhanced learning skills with confidence in application and
problem solving.
Better preparedness for school academics with complete
support for chapters covered in Science and Maths in
respective boards.
Confidence to face Olympiads at school level.
Outcome based assessment and evaluation.
Attractive scholarship based on consolidated test
performances.
Subjects taught.
The subjects taught in Foundation SnT-10 are Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Quantitative Aptitude.
Coloured printed modules for P, C, M and B are given to
students on 1st day of the class.
5
3. Methodology of teaching
Classes in Foundation SnT program are planned and
conducted in the following way.
Sessions will have Advantages
Interaction
Will ensure individual attention and
between students
facilitate clear understanding
and teachers
6
How to prepare:
Pre-class preparation helps in understanding the
explanation clearly and you will be able to ask doubts and
clarify in the class itself.
Refer to sequence of teaching given in this booklet.
Read 2-3 pages in each subject.
Note down words which you are NOT familiar with
Note down the doubts you get out of your reading.
Listen to the explanation of the teacher in the class.
Continue this process throughout your academic
journey.
Post-class preparation
After attending each session
Read the contents taught in the class from the module,
Practice by writing, solve the problems wherever
applicable and revise.
While revising, close your eyes and recollect everything
you have read or written. This enables you to take onus
of your learning.
Submission of assignments/homework
Maintain ONE long notebook for each subject.
Solve exercises/problems as instructed by teacher/s in
and submit periodically for corrections.
From June onwards
Exercises from chapters to be solved by the student will
be intimated to parents once in a fortnight through SMS.
Solve and submit as per the deadlines given.
Take back the notebooks in the class from respective
teachers.

regard.
6. Tests
Two Skill based tests (SKBT)s are conducted in an academic
year to test Learning abilities, comprehension, application,
and reasoning skills. The performance is supported by
quantitative analysis of above-mentioned skills with
observations / suggestions by the teacher.
8
Periodic self-check online tests (OT)s will be enabled for the
students.
The test dates indicated in below tables are subject to
changes (if any) due to any reason/s which will be intimated
in advance. Test portions will be communicated 2 weeks in
advance.

QBASE
10
Synopsis
To revise the contents covered in classes, the chapter-wise
summary of the contents is video recorded and enabled
periodically.
Synopsis helps student reinforce on the contents taught
which will be enabled online periodically depending on the
lessons covered in the classes.
Attendance
Attendance will be marked by teachers in the class and the
same will be available online for parents to view. We expect
students to be attentive in the class and answer the teacher
when he/she calls names.
Test performance and analysis.
Whenever tests are conducted the scores will be available
in our website with detailed analysis. Question-wise
analysis in case of MCQ based tests (both online and offline)
will be available for students and parents.
Test Solutions
Detailed solutions for descriptive and MCQ type of tests
conducted through the program will be uploaded
immediately after the tests to help the students to cross
check their answers.
Solutions to questions in the modules
We expect students to answer the questions given in the
modules so that they become self-learners. However, the
solutions will be uploaded on the website as and when the
chapters are covered in the classes.
11
QBASE
It is an online portal wherein students can post questions
related to FSnT contents or School chapters which will be
answered by our teachers within 48 working hours.
Mentoring
Mentors are the 1st point of contact for students/parents,
and they help the students in:
Teaching effective learning techniques
Understand student's concerns, interests, hobbies,
analyse their strength/weakness and help
appropriately.
Helping students to manage time and balance studies
with extracurricular activities.
Preparation of Summary sheets
Prioritizing the work and help in reaching towards set
goal of the student.
Encourage students to be self-learners.
Arrange one to one doubt sessions (FSnT/School) with
respective subject teachers with prior appointment.
Bridge gap between teacher and the student.
Support in resolving any issues related to
communications and any other academic/non-
academic matters.
12
Be punctual -You should be seated in the class 5 minutes
prior to start. You may be denied entry into the class if you
are late.
Be attentive and interactive - Foundation SnT classes are
designed to be interactive. Being active and attentive will
help you take maximum out of classroom interaction.
Clarify your doubts -Do not hesitate to ask questions. You
will not be judged. Clarify all your doubts even if they
Seek help from mentors and teachers - You can meet the
teachers and seek clarification of doubts outside the
ity. If you are shy
to ask questions in the classroom, take the help of mentor
and meet the teacher.
