NARRATION
OF
EXPERIENCES

January 27,2025
It’s Monday, and I arrived a bit late at Tagkawayan National
High School today. I came from Brgy. Cabugwang in
Tagkawayan, Quezon, but it’s all good because I don’t have
any morning classes. This gave me the opportunity to focus
on preparing my lesson for my afternoon English class. I was
able to organize my thoughts and materials, making sure
everything was ready for the students. I planned some
interactive activities to help them better understand the
lesson, and I reviewed some teaching strategies to ensure
it’s both engaging and effective. By the time I finished
preparing, I felt confident and ready to teach. The whole
process went smoothly, and I’m looking forward to seeing
how the students respond to the lesson. It's always a bit of a
challenge as a pre-service teacher, but the preparation is

rewarding, and I can already

see how it helps build my skills for the future.

It’s Tuesday, and I made sure to come in early today because I have my TLE
(Technology and Livelihood Education) class with the Emerald section. I was excited
for this class because it's a great opportunity for me to practice my teaching skills in a
subject that's both practical and engaging for the students. After my TLE class, I took
a moment to prepare for lunch since I had a demo lesson scheduled for the afternoon.
I knew I needed to recharge and focus before the demo, so I made sure to eat
something light and keep my energy up.

When the time for my demo arrived, I took a deep breath and gathered my materials. I
reminded myself that this was a chance to showcase everything I’ve been learning as
a pre-service teacher. I went through my lesson plan one last time to make sure
everything was in order, and then I started the demo. I was a little nervous, but I tried
my best to stay calm and engage the students. I wanted to make sure the lesson was
interactive and that the students could relate to it.

After the demo, Sir Jhay approached me to give feedback, and I felt a mix of
anticipation and relief. Sir Jhay is a great mentor, and I always value his insights. He
pointed out some areas where I did well, especially in engaging the students and
managing the classroom, which gave me a boost of confidence. He also provided
some constructive feedback on how I could improve my pacing and use of visual aids.
I listened carefully, knowing that every piece of advice would help me grow as a
teacher.

Overall, it was a rewarding experience. The demo gave me a chance to apply what
I’ve been learning in real-time, and the feedback from Sir Jhay was incredibly
valuable. I’m looking forward to taking his suggestions and applying them to my
future lessons. Every step, no matter how small, is a learning opportunity for me as a
pre-service teacher.

It’s a rainy day today, but I made sure to come to school early, as I was scheduled to
handle my TLE class again. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, I knew it was
important to be there and make sure the lesson went smoothly. The students were
already settling in as I started, and despite the gloomy weather outside, we managed
to have a productive session. I could see that some of the students were a bit
distracted by the rain, but I tried to keep them engaged with hands-on activities to
help them stay focused.

After the class, I went to our table, where I met up with my fellow co-student
teachers. We took a short break and had a nice conversation about how our days were
going, shared some teaching tips, and talked about how we were adjusting to the pre-
service teaching experience. It’s always good to have those moments of camaraderie,
especially when everyone is facing similar challenges. It’s a reminder that we’re all in
this together, learning and growing.

Right after lunch break, the head teacher called us to inform us that the weather was
worsening and that it was best for everyone to go home early. The rain had been
getting stronger, and we were all advised to tell the students to go home too for their
safety. The news of an early dismissal came as a relief, especially since the weather
seemed to be getting more unpredictable. I made sure to pass the message along to my
students and ensured they understood the importance of being safe as they headed
home.
It was a little strange to have a half-day, but safety always comes first. Once
everything was taken care of, I too headed home, feeling grateful for the chance to go

back and rest while knowing that the day had been productive, despite the weather
challenges. It’s moments like these that make me appreciate the unpredictability of
teaching and the importance of being flexible and adaptable as a future educator. The
experience today reminded me that, no matter how well we plan, things can change
quickly, and as teachers, we have to adjust and prioritize what’s best for our students’
well-being.

January 31,2025

It’s the last day of the week, and even though I’m feeling the weight of the week’s
work, I still made sure to go to school early to do my duties as a pre-service teacher.
There’s something about finishing the week strong that really motivates me. I arrived
a bit tired, but as soon as I stepped into the school grounds, I was reminded of how
much I enjoy being in the classroom and interacting with the students.

I started the day by reviewing my lesson plans for the day and checking if I had
everything I needed—materials, handouts, and teaching aids. I wanted to ensure that
everything was prepared for the lessons ahead. This week had been full of learning
experiences, and I was determined to make the most out of the final lesson for the
week.

The classes went by quickly, and I could feel myself becoming more comfortable as I
got more experience teaching. I was able to implement some of the strategies I
learned during my observations and from feedback I received earlier in the week. The
students seemed more engaged today, and I could see that they were enjoying the
lesson. I made sure to give clear instructions and allowed time for them to ask
questions, ensuring that they really understood the material.

After the classes, I took some time to reflect on the week. Being a pre-service teacher,
I’ve learned that reflection is key to growth. I thought about what went well and
where I could improve—whether it was my classroom management, how I presented
the lesson, or how I engaged the students. I also spoke briefly with my mentor teacher
about the week’s lessons and asked for feedback. She gave me some great tips on how
to make my lessons even more engaging and interactive, which I’m definitely going
to implement next week.

By the end of the day, I felt a sense of accomplishment. It was rewarding to see how
much I’ve grown as a teacher, even in just a short period of time. It’s not always easy,
and there are days when I feel like I’ve made mistakes, but each experience helps me
become better at my craft. I’m really looking forward to what the next week will
bring, and I’m grateful for all the learning moments I’ve had so far. As a pre-service
teacher, it’s important to keep moving forward and continue growing, and today was a
good reminder of why I chose this path in the first place.
