ENGLISH 10 QUIZ BEE CONTEST

Mechanics:
1. The contest shall be open to Grade 10 students only.
2. Each section shall have one contestant who must register to the
committee a day before the contest.
3. Each contestant shall bring a ¼ illustration board, chalk, and an eraser
on the day of the contest.
4. The Quiz Bee shall cover questions in Grammar and Correct Usage,
Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Literature.
5. There shall be three rounds:
EASY round composed of ten questions where each correct answer
corresponds to one point;
AVERAGE round composed of five questions where each correct answer
corresponds to 2 points; and,
DIFFICULT round composed of five questions where each correct answer
corresponds to 3 points.
6. The quizmaster shall read each question twice. After the second reading,
the quizmaster shall say “GO”. Only then that the contestants begin
writing the answer. The time allotment is 10 seconds per question.
7. After the time limit and buzzer sound, the contestants shall
automatically stop and raise the answer for the quizmaster and the
committee to read and verify.
8. At the end of each round the score of each contestant shall be
announced by the quizmaster.
9. The score in the easy, average, and difficult rounds shall be added. The
top three highest scorers shall be declared First, Second, and Third place
winners.
10. A clincher round shall only be given in case there is a tie.
