Lesson Plan: Simple Past Regular Verbs

(Affirmative) - PPUA Method


Lesson Objective:
Students will be able to identify, form, and use simple past regular verbs (affirmative) in
sentences and short conversations.

Target Language:
Simple past regular verbs with "-ed" endings.

Materials:
Student book page with grammar chart and exercises
Whiteboard and markers
Audio tracks (if available)
Flashcards with verbs
Visual aids (pictures related to verbs)

Lesson Duration:
45-60 minutes

Stage 1: Presentation (P)


Objective: Introduce the concept of simple past regular verbs (affirmative).

Activities:

 - Begin with a short discussion about students' activities yesterday.


 - Introduce the grammar chart from the textbook and highlight how regular verbs form
the simple past by adding "-ed."
 - Explain spelling rules (e.g., play → played, arrive → arrived, stop → stopped, try →
