Personal Reflection

Our instructor provides us with two projects to choose from, and my two teammates and I
decided that we wanted to make a proposal for a sports complex. On the other hand, building a
sports complex comes with its own set of problems, and planning and designing a sports facility
is a difficult process. So, in order for the team to finish this task successfully, each member had
to take on all of the project's responsibilities. Because of this, we were able to learn what our
responsibilities were at each stage of the project, no matter what role we were playing.

We were able to better plan and construct our project with the assistance of BIM and Revit. It
was extremely difficult for us to find time to work at the same time at the beginning, which was
critical because we were a team with different thought processes and a different mindset that
came together to work on a project with common goals and objectives. When it came to the
development of skills related to teamwork, it was extremely difficult for us to find time to work
at the same time. When we first started working on this project, I was nervous and unsure of
whether or not the work that we did as a group would help develop my skills. The act of working
in groups was an entirely new educational experience for me, and it helped me become more
aware of some of my hidden capabilities and limitations, both of which I was previously
oblivious to. During the course of working on the group project, we came to the conclusion that
the group required a leader who possessed strong leadership abilities. As a result, we chose a
leader based on certain leadership criteria, such as the power to lead and persuade others, as well
as the capacity to motivate followers, effectively lead, and communicate with others. This
procedure opened my eyes to the fact that delegating responsibility to another person is not a
simple endeavour due to the fact that people have extremely different natures. In the past, I held
the mistaken belief that working in groups prevented individuals from making the most of their
individual skills.

What I liked most about the group was that it taught everyone how to work together and
demonstrated to us how working together in a group can produce amazing results when everyone
pitches in. When members of the group were unable to complete their tasks by the allotted time,
it was the least favourite aspect of the group. This made certain aspects of the situation
challenging at times. Due to the fact that this particular task has not been completed, everything
else is delayed at that point.

Throughout the course of this project, our team picked up a few new personal development skills
and qualities. We were surprised to learn that the building and construction industry is constantly
evolving, with novel construction methods and materials being developed on a daily basis. In
addition to gaining an understanding of the fundamentals of project management, we needed to
be knowledgeable about the unique approaches and procedures that can be applied in order to
accomplish these objectives. We were able to acquire current industry knowledge regarding the
construction of sports complexes.

During the course of this project, there were a few events that did not proceed in the manner that
was anticipated. Also, the changes that appeared to be minor at first eventually became
significant. We came to the conclusion that planning should continue even during the pre-
construction phase, and we did continue to implement new ideas right up until the point where
the project was completed. Because of this, we have been able to keep a better eye on the
project's many moving parts.

During the entirety of the project, members of our group took on the roles of the client, the
architect, the quantity surveyor, and the project manager. It is of the utmost importance that
everyone be on the same page. As a consequence of this, we made it a priority to ensure that we
kept up an efficient line of communication, which in turn made the project much easier to
manage. I believe that we were able to avoid issues thanks to the effective communication that
we had amongst ourselves.

As we made progress on our project, there were a few tasks that we finished that overlapping
with one another in some way. Therefore, in order for the project to remain on schedule, we were
required to make use of our organisational skills in order to determine which tasks were the most
important and which ones could be postponed. Also, the ability to listen to team members and
other stakeholders is one of the most important qualities. It helps us understand the needs of
other parties and identify emerging risks.

It was necessary for us to increase our knowledge of soft-wears so that we could achieve a
successful outcome with this project. We use a variety of apps for a variety of purposes,
including keeping track of documents and time sheets and creating drawings. When it came to
our projects, we relied heavily on Revit. A clear and speedy process exists for transforming
straightforward line drawings in Revit into detailed designs. Also, if you make changes to the
design, you will see those changes reflected in each of the model's other views.

To ensure that the project is finished on time by everyone in the group, everyone in the group
works together. The goals of the project can only be accomplished if every person involved, as
well as the group as a whole, does what is required of them. When one member of the team was
unable to carry out his responsibility, it fell to another member of the group to take over and
complete the task.

Conclusion

Sometimes it's hard to work together on a group project, but I ended up getting along well with
the members of my group. We made our decisions on our own, but we all worked on our sections
of the project at different speeds. As a group, I think our relationships were good because the
three of us could work together to solve any problem. Also, we didn't give each other chances to
get angry because we knew that would only lead to fights that would stop the flow of our group.
Our contributions were equal, and nobody was left behind. The amount of work we each did was
also split evenly. Also, the people in my group did a great job of trying to keep each other up to
date. When one of us couldn't make an online team meeting, emails were sent to tell us what
happened and what ideas were made. Everybody in my group worked together and met the
deadlines. We never had to tell someone to complete their task or wait for them to finish.
