5. I went to a birthday party yesterday. It was in a banquet hall in Kirti Nagar. Around 200 people

me to the party. I dressed up neatly in a coat and pant for the party. I met a lot of my relatives in the

5. Name of the Game Snakes and Ladders
Method of Playing Each player puts their counter on the space that says ‘Start Here’. They take
turns to roll the dice. They move the counter forward the number of spaces shown on the dice. If a
player’s counter lands at the bottom of a ladder, he/she can move up to the top of the ladder. If a
player’s counter lands on the head of a snake, he/she must slide down to the bottom of the snake.
The first player to get to the space that says ‘Home’ is the winner.
6. I played football. There were 11 players in each team. The match was played in our neighbourhood
ground. I played a crucial role in the game as I made some important passes. I also scored 2 goals
for my team. Our team won the match 4-2 and I was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’. I really
enjoyed this game.
7. Relay Race is a type of a race in which runners compete as a team. A baton is a major aspect of a
Relay Race. The first runner of each team starts the race with a baton. After the first runner
completes his/her part of the run, the baton has to be passed on to the next runner in the team.
This continues until the final runner finishes the race with the baton in hand. If any of the runner
drops the baton, the team gets disqualified.

1. A cleanliness drive was arranged in my school on 2nd October (Gandhi Jayanti). The drive was

4. The festival of Holi is also called the ‘Festival of Colours’. It is usually celebrated in the month of
March every year. Gulal and Coloured Balloons are used in this festival. People put gulal on each
other’s face. Children throw coloured balloons to drench their friends. I like this festival a lot.
5. Water is a precious resource. We must use it carefully. A few tips can save a whole lot of water. We
should use a tumbler to water plants instead of using a hose. Any leaking taps should be repaired
to bring down water wastage. Using bucket for taking bath instead of the shower can also reduce
water wastage.
6. Vishal is my best friend. We have been studying together since we were in Nursery class. He is tall
and athletic. I like to play with him in recess time. I also share my tiffin with him. He has helped me
whenever I was in trouble. Our friendship is growing stronger with each passing day.

1. I was sleeping when I heard a knock at my door. I got up slowly to open the door. I found that a
strange man was standing at the door. He could not speak. He showed me a letter and signalled
me to read. When I read it, I came to know that he needed some money to get himself operated. I
gave him ` 2000 note and he left.
2. I reached my home from school today at 2 PM. I found that my house was open but nobody was
there inside. Everything was lying here and there. I called my mother’s name but there was no
response. I thought that a thief had broken into my house. I was about to call the police when my
father called my name. I asked him why everything was lying here and there. He calmed me down
and told me that a monkey had come inside the house through an open window. He had thrown
the things here and there. He added that he had to scare the monkey to make him leave the house.
Luckily, nothing was broken in the house. I thanked God that my father was safe.
3. Once a lion was asleep in his den. A mouse was running up and down upon the lion. The lion got
up and placed his paw upon the little mouse. The mouse asked for forgiveness and said that one
day he would help the lion. The lion forgave him and let him go. The mouse thanked the lion. One
day the lion was caught in the net by the hunters. The mouse saw that the lion needed his help. The
hunters had gone out for a break. The mouse cut the net and set the lion free. In this way the
mouse kept his promise. The lion thanked him a lot for saving his life.
4. A little boy came running excitedly to his mother. He said that there was someone in the woods
who was mocking him. He further added that it repeated whatever he said. His mother listened to
him patiently and assured him that there was nothing to worry about. She explained to him that it
was nothing but his own voice echoing back to him. The little boy was happy on hearing this and
went to the woods again to play.
5. Rachna wanted to learn dancing. She went to a dance studio to enrol in a dancing course. The
instructor welcomed her but she could not join the course as the fees was very high. She was
determined to learn dancing. Someone told her that she can learn to dance by watching Youtube
videos on dancing. She used her father’s smart phone for one hour daily to learn dancing from the
videos. Soon, she was able to learn dancing herself by practicing the moves shown in the videos.
