RESEARCHER-MADE INTERVIEW GUIDE

Good morning. We are Alexandra Beralde, Alleah Jessa C. Calamba,


and Princes Diane A. Legaspi

We are glad that you are here today. Thank you for your willingness to
participate in our study. We are here today to ask you some questions whose
answers will be used in our study entitled: “CLANDESTINE LOVER: A
NARRATIVE STUDY OF SINGLE WOMEN IN ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP
WITH MARRIED MAN”.

Please be informed that our session may last from 45 minutes to one hour.
During our session, you will be answering some questions regarding your
personal experiences as single women in a romantic relationship with married
man. However, you have the freedom whether to answer or not to answer the
questions that we will be asking. Rest assured that the records of the interview
would be kept with confidentiality. All the participants’ names will be coded in
order to hide your identity. Before the interview proper, you may ask clarifications
regarding the conduct of the interview.

In addition, I would like to inform that our conversation would be recorded


so that I will be able to transcribe every information correctly. If you wish to listen
to the recording after the session, it would not be a problem.

Research Question 1: WHAT ARE THE NARRATIVES OF WOMEN ABOUT


THEIR EXPERIENCES AND MOTIVATIONS FOR ENGAGING IN ROMANTIC
RELATIONSHIPS WITH MARRIED MAN?

1.1. Can you share the events or experiences that prompted you to have a
romantic relationship with a married man?

1.2. What emotions and thoughts do you associate with your experiences in
the relationship?

1.3. How do you perceive the beginning and progression of your relationship
with a married man?

1.4. What challenges or conflicts do you encounter about being involved with a
married man, and how did you manage them?

Research Question 2: WHAT PERSONAL, SOCIAL, AND CULTURAL


FACTORS INFLUENCE THE PERSPECTIVES AND CHANCES OF WOMEN IN
SUCH RELATIONSHIPS?

2.1. How do your personal beliefs, values, and past experiences shape your
perspective on engaging in a relationship with a married man?

2.2. In what ways do your societal norms and expectations about relationships
influence your decisions and chances in such a relationship?

2.3. How does your cultural background affect your views and choices regarding
involvement with a married man?

2.4. What role do your social circle and community play in supporting or
challenging your engagement in a relationship with a married man?

Research Question 3: HOW DO THESE WOMEN PERCEIVE AND NAVIGATE


THE EMOTIONAL AND ETHICAL COMPLEXITIES OF THEIR
RELATIONSHIPS WITH MARRIED MAN?

3.1. Can you share any experiences in a relationship when you had to confront
complex emotions? What approaches did you take to address those feelings, and what
insights or changes resulted from the situation?

3.2. How can you narrate your decision-making processes when confronted with
ethical dilemmas in the relationship?

3.3. What coping strategies do your recount for handling emotional and ethical
challenges in these relationships?

3.4. How do you feel about your journey overall? Did you come to any insights
or realizations?

3.5. If you could give a piece of advice to people who are in the same situations as
you or who are thinking about it, what would it be?

The following will provide you the information about the study that will help you
decide whether or not you wish to participate. If you agree to participate, please
be aware that you are free to withdraw at any point throughout the duration of the
study without any penalty.

The researchers request your consent for participation in this study


"CLANDESTINE LOVER: A NARRATIVE STUDY OF SINGLE WOMEN IN A
ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH MARRIED MEN”. This consent form allows
the researchers to use the data gathered from the questionnaire.

In this study, all information you provide will remain confidential and will not be
associated with your name. Your participation is solicited yet voluntary. If, for any
reason, you do not feel comfortable, you may refuse to answer and receive credit
for the time you participated, and your information will be discarded. In addition,
your participation in this study will require approximately 40 minutes. When this
interview is complete, you will be furnished with a copy of your responses. You
are also free to ask any question regarding the results of the study.
