TO + INFINITIVE VERB

1. Diễn tả mục đích:

Ví dụ: I want to learn about Vietnamese history, so I went to old temples.
=> I went to old temples to learn about Vietnamese history

2. To-infinitive sẽ xuất hiện khi có những dấu hiệu sau:

 Những cụm danh từ có chứa số thứ tự: the first,the second, the third,…
 Những cụm danh từ có chứa từ chỉ so sánh nhất: the best, the most beautiful…
 Những cụm danh từ có chứa các từ the next, the last, the only…

Ví dụ: She is the only person in the class who answers all questions correctly.
=> She is the only person in the class to answer all questions correctly.

*Đối với câu mang nghĩa bị động: to + be + v3/ed

Ví dụ: People discovered that Vung Tau is the most beautiful place in Vietnam
=> The most beautiful place in Vietnam to be discovered is Vung Tau
