● Section 1 - Life, Liberty and Security
◆ No person will be deprived of life, liberty or property
without due process of law
● Section 2 - Freedom from unreasonable searches
◆ The right of the people to be secure in their persons,
houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches
and seizures of whatever nature and for any purposes shall
be inviolable without a warrant.
◆ TDLR - No search warrant, no search
● Section 3 - Privacy of Communications
◆ The privacy of communications and correspondence shall
be inviolable except upon lawful order of the court or when
public safety or order requires otherwise
◆ Any evidence obtained in violation shall be inadmissible
◆ TDLR - Communication is private unless ordered by the
court. Evidence obtained in violation is not counted
● Section 4 - Freedom of Speech
◆ No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of
expression or of the press of the right of the people to
assemble
◆ TDLR - No laws against freedom of speech or expression
of the people.
● Section 5 - Freedom of Religion
◆ No law shall be made respecting an establishment of
religion, prohibiting the free exercise. No religious test
shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights
◆ TDLR - No laws against or for a certain religion.
● Section 6 - Right to live in a place and travel
◆ The liberty of abode and of changing the same within
limits prescribed by law shall not be impaired except upon
lawful order of the court. Neither shall the right to travel
be impaired except in the interest of national security,
public safety or health
◆ TDLR - Nobody can stop you from living in a place and
moving to a new home nor traveling unless for national
order.
● Section 7 - Freedom of Information
◆ The right of the people to information of public concern
shall be recognized. Access to official records, documents
and papers pertaining to official acts, transactions or
decision
◆ TDLR - The public has access to information that concerns
the public
● Section 11 - Free access to courts
◆ Free access to the courts and quasi judicial bodies and
adequate legal assistance shall not be denied to any person
by reason of poverty
◆ TDLR - Free legal assistance may be provided to a person
if they cannot afford their own
● Section 14 - Right to due process of the law
◆ No person shall be held to answer for a criminal offense
without due process of law
◆ Right to be innocent until proven guilty, to a speedy,
impartial and public trial
◆ TDLR - No person can be prosecuted without due process
of law. They are innocent until proven guilty and have a
right to a fast, unbiased and public trial
● Section 18 - Freedom of Political Belief and Aspiration
◆ No person shall be detained solely by reason of political
beliefs and aspirations
◆ No involuntary servitude in any form shall exist except as a
punishment for a crime where the party has be duly
convicted
◆ TDLR - No person shall be arrested solely because of
political beliefs or aspirations. Public servitude cannot be
involuntary unless it is court ordered community service.
