XIII. Read the story and answer the questions that follow.
1. Rohan loved flying kites. Every evening, he would go to the big playground
near his house with his friends and fly colorful kites. One day, while walking
home from school, he saw a bright red kite stuck on a tree branch. It was big
and had golden stars on it. Rohan wanted to take it down, but the branch was
too high.
2. That night, he kept thinking about the beautiful kite. The next morning, he
took a long stick and went to the tree. He tried to reach the kite, but it was still
too far. Just then, an old man passing by saw him and asked, "Do you need

help?" Rohan nodded. The old man smiled, picked up a long pole, and gently
pulled the kite down. Rohan was very happy and thanked him.
3. Rohan took the kite home and fixed its torn edges. He carefully tied a new
string and added a long, colorful tail. He was excited to fly it. That evening,
he went to the playground and let the kite soar high into the sky. It flew
smoothly, shining in the golden sunlight. His friends gathered around and
cheered.

4. As he was flying the kite, a little girl ran up to him and said, "That’s my kite! I
lost it yesterday when the wind blew it away!" Rohan looked at the girl and
then at the kite. He had worked so hard to fix it, but he knew it was not really
his. Smiling, he gave the kite back to her. The little girl thanked him happily.

The Curious Little Bird

In a garden bright and wide,

A little bird wished to glide.
With golden wings and eyes so bright,
She dreamed of soaring to great height.

She asked the flowers, soft and sweet,

“Where does the sunshine go to meet?”
The daisies swayed, the roses smiled,
But none could answer the bird so wild.

She asked the river, cool and deep,

“Where do the little fishes sleep?”
The water sparkled, sang a tune,
Yet left her wondering all afternoon.

She asked the sky, so big and blue,

“Why do the clouds change shape and hue?”
The sky just stretched, so vast and high,
And let the breeze give a gentle sigh.

One day she flew, up high so free,

And found the answers in the sea.
She learned that wonders big and small,
Are best explored when you see them all!
